that’s that I’m sayin like?? Nicki herself should know, from being in the industry and being a Black woman herself, all the bs and experiences black women go thru on a daily basics. Especially in the hip-hop/rap game, where there are many (white) male consumers. The misogynoir is real. And nicki has really been driving that home from what I see.

i mean both criticism is stupid, like did she have anything to do with the original crimes or is her husband like super big or something, why are we prosecuting women for her husbands crimes, and one would think Megan who talked about being not taken seriously as a woman who can make her own choices and being in relationships that the public judged her for her husband crimes would be able to understand what thats like for nicki instead waving her pitchforks higher than when she was the target , idk its giving lindsay paris fight, its giving women on women crimes, its giving witch hunt, its just not a good look, like can the we stop canceling by association alone and then pitting women against each other, the Internet's two favorite things

while i never want to judge a grieving father, megan’s law became more than about his daughter in the decades after its passing. and there’s no way a court will hear a case that would lead to a precedent of not being able to mention specific laws in lyrics. if megan made a diss track about his daughter, he would have a case for defamation. but megan’s law isn’t referencing a person, it’s a federal law.

I don't see someone sued for mentioning a law ever getting taken seriously by a judge. I do acknowledge that this is probably reopening some old wounds to see this case discussed, but if he did not want his daughters name attached to the law, I feel like that's another thing that should have been addressed. The name of that law will be discussed in some capacity as long as it is in effect, and I hope that if that is something he is not comfortable with, he could attempt to get the name changed? I'm not sure, I don't know if he was consulted in the naming of the law or not.

Of his own stepdaughter too. She's horrible for doing that. Yes, she was groomed and likely abused by her now husband (she was 16-17 and he was 20-21 when they started dating) but she went from victim to perpetuating the cycle of abuse. By having a kid who she allows to be around her family, when her brother has already assaulted one kid that was related to him. When her husband is a rapist. By attacking Megan and by bailing her brother out to harm more kids. At some point she stopped being a vulnerable young girl being taken advantage of and now she's utilizing all of her money and power to help abusers.

One thing to add that wasn't mentioned in the video is that Pardi actually admitted that he lied about not cheating on Megan. He initially said that he didn't cheat, but then he literally came out and admitted that he actually did cheat (post dropping his horrible diss song aimed at her). What makes this insane is that a lot of people (primarily Megan haters) were taking all of the lyrics in his song at face value, a slanderous song targeted at the ex he cheated on, and using them to antagonize and belittle Megan. You mean to tell me that you actually believe the word of a man who publicly admitted to lying about not cheating on her? Instead of holding him accountable for his lying and poor actions, they use his (horrible) song to insult Megan. Some people are just downright miserable and thrive in negativity.

Thank you Nicole for mentioning the victim allegedly being harassed by Nicki and her husband! I’ve been seeming people defending Kenneth Petty by saying that it was charges from 30ish years ago, however that lawsuit says that he and Nicki were harassing his victim into trying to recant her statements and basically forcing her to relive her trauma all over again. ALSO she paid for her brother’s legal fees and defended him publicly! And he’s a convicted sex offender who assaulted his step-daughter!

  • @thecavalieryouth

I hadn't even known before this beef that her brother was convicted (just accused), so I wanted to give Nicki a pass on supporting her brother by getting him good legal representation (innocent till proven guilty and all that, and I can understand her wanting to believe in her brother's innocence). But to know that she'll still defend him even after all the evidence has been presented *and* his conviction (of a young child she *personally* knows!) is so vile. IDC if the perp is a loved one, you don't stand by an abuser! Especially a sexual abuser. This has forever tainted Nicki's legacy and left a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths.

One thing about Kenneth Petty that people aren't really bringing up is the fact that he went to jail for MURDER. And he also dated Nicki when she was 16 and he was 20-21, so a year or so after he got of jail for raping someone, which Nicki said so herself on her Queen Radio. Nicki also said that Megan spoke up about what happened to her was her trying to get a Rihanna moment to garner sympathy and get bigger because of it. What in the literal bs? Meg didn't get any benefit from talking about it. Literally, the only way both cases are similar is that both women were pressured to talk about their abuse and were both attacked for it. Megan lost both her mother and grandmother in March of 2019, not 2021.

Stan culture also plays a HUGE roll in this. Nicki is known for having a feirce fanbase on X who she calls "barbs", And for a long time ppl who’ve said anything remotely bad about Nicki were immediately met with backlash. This has caused many people to refrain from talking about Nicki Minaj and her husband for a very long time which is why most people are just recently finding about the controversial things they’ve both done. The barbs and bardie gang (cardi b’s fanbase) have had ongoing feuds on X because of the two rappers beefing. The beef between the two stan groups have also caused other stan communities to pick sides as well. An example of this would be the Arinators who are fans of ariana grande and often consider themselves "sister" fan bases with the barbs. The Arinators are now also split half and half since Megan thee stallions dropping of “Hiss”. Most people have chosen to side with the barbs, but Megan thee stallion has truly changed things forever. Swifties (Taylor swift fans) who are also known for being extremely protective of their favourite celebrity, have also chosen to side with Megan thee stallion. The beehive (Beyoncé’ fanbase) had decided to side with Megan thee stallion as well. Megan hasn’t had that big of a fanbase for a very long time now. But ever since “hiss” was dropped, i’ve seen more and more “hotties” coming together in support of Megan. Even going as far as too streaming her song, and potentially getting her the number one spot on billboards hot 100. Nicki Minaj prides herself in numbers, and often has the barbs stream her songs so they can get higher on charts. (Even when the songs aren’t very good) Knowing this, fans have now come together to get “hiss” at number one, also knowing that this will cause Nicki Minaj to spiral Many people have been praising Megan for not responding to Nickis multiple rants on X, and lives on radio station and instagram. (Which i think is making Nicki go even crazier😂) and many people are disgusted with Nicki bringing up Megan’s deceased mother, which caused the barbs to leak the location of her mothers grave and forcing Megan to hire security to protect her mothers grave from being vandalized. At the end of the day, the barbs and Nicki Minaj has had too much power when it comes to stan culture, and Megan thee stallion is pretty much the second coming of christ stan culture has been waiting for😭

Seeing white people getting into the mix with rap beef is kinda crazy to me but I’m glad y’all are getting to see Nicki for who she is. A few things I would add: The Nicki and Cardi beef started in 2017 for a collab they did with the Migos for Motorsport. Nicki admitted in a now deleted tweet that she wasn’t actually pregnant during the interaction she alleged Megan was trying to get her to drink. She continued to do a song with Megan, promote it, and shout her out after this alleged incident that had her so incensed. Nicki knew Kenneth from way back. They’re four years apart. She’s said that the incident that, according to her didn’t happen but is also simultaneously “old tea” happened when Kenneth was 15 (meaning she would be 11). It actually happened when he was 16, the victim was 16, and it was at knife point (so Nicki would have been 12). She also stated that she dated Kenneth for the first time at 16, so he would have been 20- meeting the age of consent in NY but she’s still a kid. He also beat up her boyfriend when she was like 12? Idk it was on an episode of her show Queen Radio, the clip is out there. Anyway, they met again when she was donating turkeys for Thanksgiving to families in her old neighborhood (I want to say this was 2018). Kenneth was in a relationship with another woman, whom he lived with. *My* speculation is that Nicki chose to pluck Kenneth up from that turkey drive because of his street ties, to have a husband and baby to compete with Cardi, and to have her own goons. I personally think she believed that her money and power could take care of that offender charge and that’s why they went after his victim with threats to make her recant her story (which she refused and went public). Tory didn’t have a huge following of fans before he shot Megan. Megan wasn’t even going to rat Tory out, and initially even lied to the police to protect him (considering what they could do to a Black man in that 2020 climate), but Tory was feeding false narratives to Black tea blogs to spin the story of the incident and paint her in a negative light. People picked sides, and by people I mean Black men who hate Black women and pick mes chose to stand with Tory. That’s how he garnered so many “ardent” fans and support from bigger artists like DaBaby (who has now fallen off) and Drake. His decision to lie on Megan cast a wide net of doubt; people who don’t read anything but Black tea blogs still believe he didn’t shoot her to this day and blame Megan for “tearing a Black man down”. Alright, I’m closing the door to Black people’s business now lol

I remember her going to Ellen in 2014 and stating that she indeed wanted a baby but only after being married and in « few years, not now » and she did that. So she married that man in 2019 I think ? I think it’s important that people also hear that a LOT of people are accusing nicki of being high off cocaine in that song and over the weekend. She rambles on and on and lots of former addicts online say she sounds high. Nicki also mentions coke specifically a lot in her music. When I first heard it, I hadn’t seen those comments and I also thought she sounded very off and possibly high. Poor woman needs help.

This was something so important and historical for women, not just rap. Nicki is a misogynist tacky and was never hip hop period. The made a career attacking Kim. Also as a survivor and anime fan, and strong lady I was almost murdered in 2022, no worries he is in jail, but in therapy me and my therapist were talking about how important the hiss video is for survivors that don’t fit the current mold for women. Some of us are strong and independent and we can lay our own eggs of rebirthing ourselves after trauma. It’s VERY DEEP And VERY HEALING. This kind of “clapback” hits on so many levels for women.

that’s what’s so sad about it imo, is clearly she inspired a whole generation of young girls to pursue a career in the rap industry and instead of being proud of them, supporting and encouraging the new generation SHE inspired, and handing off her crown to the next deserving Queen of Rap in a respectful way, she had to be messy and do all this. she was one of the women to open the door for all these new female rappers, but she really just wanted the door closed behind her.

So glad you chose to take this head on. Seen so many people I like online avoid this topic cause they’re ‘scared of the barbs’. Thing is they totally have a point. The way that woman actively fosters parasocial relationships with her biggest fans through her lives and stuff and then once their rabid actively sends them against people is unhinged. Fair enough being afraid of a fan base that will dox you, swat you, make it their mission in life to ruin yours cause you reasonably pointed out serious issues with their ‘queen’ I’ve never been a barb but previously enjoyed elements of Nicki and her music. Knew there were some unsavoury elements but never really looked too close. This situation has made me really look into her history (particularly her defence of abusers and harassment of abuse victims). I no longer will support Nicki in any way. Also as a gay guy I get irritated how gay guys will give such devotion to this woman. She’s never given anything but surface level support and lip service to this community. She associates quite happily with people that hate it. Contrast that to meg who has been screaming her support for the community for years and not at a surface level. Come on guys maybe rethink who you’re supporting here. Anyway great vid, thorough recap and funny as always ❤

Her aligning with Abusers is a definite side eye. But I understand her situation with her brother. Despite what is known, one cannot tell another how to react when met with horrendous deeds of someone that they’ve became close to. These are easier said than done situations, though personally I could say that openly, I will revoke my support of a close family member of mine, if placed in a situation like that. Internally, I cannot speak if I will forever hold disdain for that person.. or still have some love for them. So I understand why she would’ve supported her brother. What does give the side eye is her choice of husband. But knowing the history of her and her past partners, and the trauma ( that we as a public know) she went through. I cannot say that I was ever surprised. Especially when thinking about others in similar situations, like Kali Uchis, a mindset like that is usually engraved from trauma. Now being a lover of both the queen and the stallion. Two things I am not is delusional nor a hypocrite. In reference to your LGBT take. Nicki has always been an avid supporter of the LGBT, especially since her fanbase consists mainly of women and LGBT. Specifically black women & black LGBT. She has opened doors for black gay men to have a space in Rap, EX: Nas X and Saucy Santana, partly reason why she was called a sellout not to forget the trans women she had in her super bass music video. But let’s not forget that even Meg aligned with Dababy who came out and said those nasty things about LGBT, Women, & AIDS victims. Nicki’s Impact, undeniable talent, Unmatched accolades, & the fact that people understand that she has been battling an industry since her debut, is what garners her support. It’s her behavior and who she’s aligned herself with these past years that people qualm about. People will forever love the impact, people do not like the “ Spiral”.

Accept it or not, it's an undeniable fact that the majority of so-called Black people are against racism, discrimination, colorism, systemic oppression, gays, trans and pedophiles 💯 Because we fear the Most High and will never support sin/abominations. The few that do participate in and support will be judged. And destroyed. If you haven't noticed, we're extremely spiritual. As a matter of fact, so-called African Americans created every popular music genre. Including slave spirituals (songs about slavery and our biblical EXODUS), gospel, soul, blues, jazz, hip hop, pop, country, rock n roll and reggae; etc. Regardless of which religion or beliefs we hold throughout the diaspora.

Great video, as usual. I will mention it is rather critical to the lore that Megan’s rise was ultimately stunted by the absolute leeches that were siphoning any and all profits from her during the first years of her success, and that lawsuit against her former label was made public ONLY when they tried to keep her from collaborating with BTS, causing a firestorm. Up until that point no one had a clue that she more or less had made no money off of anything she released and had no rights to any of her masters. Under the collab contract she would receive with BTS, they arranged it so ONLY Megan would receive ALL royalties from that remix, forever, and not a cent for her label at the time, since the collaboration was under BTS’ label. ALL THAT TO SAY STREAM BUTTER FT. MEGAN

expect that what he said was false cause she's not broke. If anything he said was actually true you know that TMZ would be the first to break the news. It'd be all over the blogs. f you look at the documents he posted its just talking about her loan. She payed 7 mill cash and got a 13 million dollar loan for her 20 mill house. She signed her tour and music as collateral if she for some reason couldn't pay it back. Which won't happen cause her tour is almost completely sold out so she'll be making what I assume is decent money from it. Lots of celebs do this for credit reasons. Kim K got a loan for her 40 mill house and put up collateral for it too same with mark Zuckerberg with his 100 mill house.
