If she leaves Her entire family including her mother with maybe the exception of her daughter was Sean her and never speak to her. Also she has taught that her reward for happiness is in heaven not on earth and that if she does leave all of the family will be damned to hell including the children. @Mrs. T Its hard tonleave something that has been your entire life. I belueve she grew up that way. She would be admitting that everything in her life... to include her parents were wrong and manipulative. She would also have to leave ANY social system she has. It is a scary though for most people. Her whole social circle are the other "wives" who would completely abandon her. They are atleast offering some sort of socialization right now. There is a reason the first step in abusing a person or manipulating them is to cut them off from everyone else. You have to be made to feel like there is nowhere else to go. It is important to maintain relationships outside of your marriage for that very reason.

I someone disagree with you. Meri is a difficult personality to be with. Everyone at some point have made comments about how difficult and harsh Meri can be. Christine is an absolute sweetheart in how she managed that first conversation with Meri. Meri just didn't like the conversation because Christine was being honest with her about how Christine and the rest of the family feel whenever Meri is around. If you can't be honest with the people in your life, why are they in your life to begin with? I guess that's why Christine has now left the family. She can speak her mind without being told she is being too rough and aggressive when she is actually the kindest person in that family, minus Janelle, Aspen and Ysabel. Now, don't get me wrong. Meri needed some extra kindness at this point in time, but just because you need kindness does not mean you should be allowed to treat people any which way you want either. It also doesn't mean that people cannot approach you about your behaviors and how it affects them also.

This is why polygamy is always damaging to the females while the male enjoys. How can Kody be there emotionally for all his wives? How can a woman see another woman that sleeps with her husband as a “sister.” Any loving woman would have that natural sense of jealousy. I feel Meri should leave Kody and just live freely.

Yeah, I feel like Cody emotionally disconnected from Meri a LONG time ago! Meri is a lovely person. She should move on and find a man that will truly appreciate her. She also needs female friends that she chooses based on mutual love, respect, appreciation, and common interests, instead of "sisters" that her husband picked for her to be attached to, that don't really seem to appreciate at, or even understand, her.

I think deep down, Meri realizes that something is wrong with this system even if she was raised to believe in it. This isn't freedom and it isn't love. It's bondage and selfishness. Why aren't the wives also allowed to have multiple husbands, if love is supposed to be "multiplied and not divided?" It's a huge con job. And as each day goes by, I think she realizes it more and more.

There is a YT channel by a ex polygamist and in her April program Cody Brown was mentioned. He was a character witness in court for a man that was up on domestic assault charges. Very warped values.

I think Meri is the lonely one, she only was able to have one child where as the others has multiple and some are still at home. Also she was the first wife now she lost that to Robyn. She’s looking for a way out. The bed n breakfast never worked out, her dream, no one supported her. So I can kinda see her frustration with just everything and everyone. She’s trying to get out but I don’t think she knows how cause she knows no other lifestyle.

And two years later! Here she is! Yes!!!!!! I’m glad two of the wives are finally going on with their life

For ya’ll who also don’t know, Meri has lost two siblings that died in extremely tragic ways at young ages. A father that died in his 60’s (still far too young). I can’t even imagine the sort of grief that would leave on a person. After learning this it’s made me realise exactly how insensitive the rest of the family truly are with Meri.

@5:53 Meri is spot on with that - once they no longer needed her to babysit the other wives' kids they pushed her away because she only had one it's not like she had them babysitting for her. Those women used her to get her husband, Especially Robyn - maybe that's why her name is that cause she be Robyn women's husbands! That woman had an agenda from the get-go. She was so buddy-buddy with Meri during the courtship and as soon as Robyn got into Cody's bed she flipped and was able to kick Meri outta the legal status as wife. What a F'D up commune this is. They are the perfect example as to why none of their daughters want to be in a plural marriage.

That is stupid. First of all, you can never "steal" anyones partner bc they have a will and rights of their own. If your partner treates you bad it is on them, not their new partner. Second of all Meri does not derserve more or less than any other of the wifes. They are all at an disadvantage to cody, bc of him and their stupid misogonistic culture.

Meri did a really good job explaining that she felt unsafe in that conversation.

If you read their book, Meri was the problem. She was awful to the sister wives and the kids. The older kids still have relationships with Christine, but not Meri. There’s a reason for that

I feel like she doesnt fit that fam anymore because she is the only one who has an empty nest, yet her husband doesn't at the same time. She has lots of time on her hands now and they don't trust her so much after the catfish situation. And she's said that she's mourning not having the prospect of a son-in-law, even though shes ok with her daughter being gay. I feel for her.

afro brit Happy at peace and content. Definitely NOT her fault and shouldn’t be blamed for all of the emotional pain brought on to her. Kody is mainly responsible. I couldn’t imagine how she first felt when kody first introduced the idea of having another wife in the first place. I’m sure she went with it because she loved him and would rather stay married with him and accept that he was going to do what he wanted. I’m sure she felt very stuck she didn’t want to leave and divorce him because Mormons look down on that. You are taught to always be submissive and obey your husband. You can even be excommunicated from the church for divorce. So losing her husband and her entire faith support system would have been so much worse for her. So In her eyes it was either suck it up and play along or completely lose everything. It was a lose lose situation. Now that she’s legally divorced from kody she probably feels very lost seeing as that was the one thing she was holding onto.

When Meri said "why wouldn't I be guarded..... why wouldn't I be guarded..?tell me." That just breaks my heart.😔💔 I wish those two(plus Janelle) would have never been with him from the start because they are both such beautiful hearts, its sad.

The problem with Meri's heaviness is her absolute unrepentance for her part in the "catfishing". She had plans to leave the family, if it had been a real man she would have. She hasn't even once told the truth about it. And her daughter knows this and that is the wedge in their relationship. In regards the person who catfished her is a criminal.

I can understand how she feels out of place. My husband divorces me to marry another sister wife after many years of being married my oldest is at college. I can imagine she doesn’t feel accepted and wanted. Meri do your own thing you are smart and strong you will do well!;)

This show tries so hard to normalize this crazy way of life--show how "happy" they all are. They're NOT happy.

Meri has a hard time seeing herself as she really is and when others are honest with her. She always talks about people accusing her and having her walls up and being guarded. She’s never learned. She’s never changed. I think she’d be much happier moving on in her life and finding some happiness of her own. I have felt bad for her and how Kody had treated her. That has to be so painful! I can’t imagine.

Meri, you are an amazing woman! I would walk away. You have outgrown these ladies and kody. Go on with your own life. You can do it 🤗

Imagine how happy Merri might be if she had a relationship that actually met all her needs. Or if she was the type of person who is able to find freedom and value in being alone and loving herself enough for two people. I personally love being on my own and I don't often feel I need support from a romantic relationship although sometimes I think it would be nice. But I think Meri would have led a much happier adult life if she was the only love of someone's life and they were hers.

Meri should leave them all in the dust. She's better then all ove them.

Meri n Christine 's relationship starts deteriorating when Meri brought Robyn in.

Meri is unhappy and lonely. That is why she was vulnerable to being cat-fished. I will never forget the expression on her face when Kody made the decision not to have another baby with her after Robin offered to be a surrogate for her. Life is too short!

I will personally pray that god relief meri from her pain a give her the courage to leave.

Christine is blunt, to the point and very direct and a lot of times that can come across as rude. I have a friend who is very very negative and I told her something similar because I don’t know why so I don’t know how to deal with her. But she needs to acknowledge that both of them have changed and add the tension to the relationship.

I think Christine was harsh but it’s important she tells Meri. My step mother sucked all the life from a room, she made us all miserable because she was always so down and harsh and not even for a particular reason. I wish one of us had the courage to just tell her because we would have been much better off not holding our breath until she left. No one deserves to live like that. By brining it to her attention Meri has the chance to change it and break the cycle of how she feels isolated and unloved.

God can you tell they are therapy junkies? Meri uses all the lingo.

Now that both Meri and Christine are gone. It will be interesting to see if there is a show called Life after Cody.

Christine you and Meri really belong as friends and you consider moving towards being BEST FRIENDS and I hope you both open up to each other for that and I hope that you reach for that because you both deserve it.

You can't be best friends with someone who abused your children. The kids have come out and told us on other platforms.

The only thing sadder then divorce is living an unhappy life.

Merri needs her own family. I use to like this family but their type of plural marriage pisses me off. They are not a family. They can't even leave together for a couple of months 🙄

What a heartbreaking situation to have to live in 😢 no big surprise anyone would have “baggage”. Does anyone truly not have baggage?

I love Christine. It’s good that she was being honest. Because Meri does have heavy, negative energy. & it’s because she’s unhappy, Meri needs to make changes in her life instead of just not doing anything.

Anyone who has even an ounce of sympathy for Meri has not witnessed her recent behaviors after Christine left Kody. Also, now that most of the children are adults, they have started speaking out about how Meri was an abusive "monster" towards them when they were growing up. The more information that comes out...the less sympathy I have for her! She was so nasty and cruel to Janelle that Janelle actually moved to another state and lived apart from the family for 2 years!

What annoys me the absolute most about Meri as a human being and a sister wife is that she complains about not feeling loved or welcome but when they do open there arms for her (like Christine and Janelle have both done plenty of times) she dismisses it or her entire energy she brings is just so negative and toxic you can legit feel it through the camera. She uses being guarded as a manipulation and an excuse. When Christine left and said she wasn’t up for a relationship with Robyn and Meri right then. I was thinking well why the hell should she? She’s put in so much effort and time trying to make relationships and help and they crap on it and then cry victim to Kody. Meri didn’t like Janelle and Christine because she didn’t pick them like she did Robyn and that is extremely obvious when you rewatch it. The victim playing instantly makes me cringe from both… Robyn with her kids and her ex husband and Meri with her infertility and the catfish thing. Drives me mental.

Meri has a massive house considering it's just her and one child living there.

I can't imagine wanting another baby so much, and your husband says no. But having to pretend to always be happy for years, while he goes on to have lots more kids with other women.

There are people who SUCK the oxygen out of any room they walk into. Meri is that person. Good luck Christine. I wish I knew how to be open when there is that person in my life

I think Cody needs to bring up the idea of bringing in another wife. I don't think Robin would feel so superior.

This was really sad and all on Christine. That was so mean and coming in to a conversation saying you’re the problem shuts everything down. This plural marriage doesn’t seem to want to mesh.

I know this will probably get lost in the comments but sometimes when I’m home alone I like to go out in my garden and cover myself with dirt and pretend I’m a carrot.

Unpopular opinion- I used to feel bad for Meri, however the more I watch about her the more I realize that she does play the victim A LOT. How you not gonna “feel safe” while ur two grown-ass women trying to have a raw, earnest conversation? She DOES bring baggage everywhere with her, and anytime people try to point that out she says they’re “accusing” her. She’s gotten really dramatic, she used to seem like the most down to earth one. Smh

If Christine's version of aggression is always this sweet then the entire planet should bow down to Christine. Christine was in NO WAY aggressive. Meri is just overly sensitive in this case. Christine has always been so sweet and kind.

I think she's right when she said when they had kids and now kids are grown and they aren't needing each other. Makes sense. I think also they need to start small. Sit and watch a movie or go see a movie or go for a walk together. I have never understood having multiple wives.
