The dumbest one seems to make the meaningful decisions, which is So strange. It’s never what is best for everyone, its Only what he wants. He's with 3 different women & has children with other mothers. I know it's their religion, but I think Meri gave up a tremendous amount that wasn't returned when she gave up her legal position to Robin. She only had one biologic child. She had pain from before the show. He's obsessed with $. She needs security that's through a physical relationship. I truly feel like she's mentally broken & I pray she finds her way back. I don't think Cody will help much. He's far too self indulgent. Honestly I only think Jennell understands her pain but much wont be done about it in this family. They are all in too deep. It's very sad. Its difficult to watch. I do not support this on TV. This came up in my feed as Aspen getting married and it went over to this. Honestly I feel sorry for her and worse if any of the kids have had to deal with it. I pray they all come to know Jesus Christ and can find only the peace that the One True God can give them.

Amanda Charlebois not all. Homo sapiens (our species) and the other “archaic” humans (Denisovans and Neanderthals ) overlapped with their existence on earth and there is evidence that they all mated. So not everyone has Neanderthal blood

It says a lot that none of his kids follow his religion.

It's sad that Meri knew then that their relationship was not good and hoped it would be better in 5 years only for 5 years to pass and it hasn't changed, if anything, it's worse. I think she realised that she's wasted 5 years. She could have walked away then and had a completely different life now. I hope it's not another 5 years until she realises that times change and what use to work, isn't. She could be much happier out of this relationship. It's ok for plans not to happen and things to decay. It's not ok to do nothing about it and hope change comes. I just wish they weren't so deluded by themselves.

Let’s please remember that the laws surrounding polygamy are there for a reason. This may not be a cult but the FLDS is. Even in Canada we have these issues and young men and women escaping. My Aunt and cousins help those people leaving and provides them with support and shelter.

Canada has a lot of issues around religious and spiritual expression in general anyway. Look at how the majority of the population view First Nations traditions. I'm glad the communities are doing something to help others, because that's a serious issue as well. I just wish that the Canadian government (all governments really) would start addressing the obvious inconsistencies in human rights toward First Nations peoples.

If they didn’t criminalize polygamy then they would be able to help people in those cults so much easier. People stay in those horrible situations because they are scared of being arrested for polygamy and loss their kids. Make them less scared to talk to people, let them feel safe talking to police about being abused. The secrets and fear are what makes it so easy for corruption to take over.

They were great friends beforehand actually. Janelle was actually in a relationship (I think even married but I'm not positive) with Meri's brother before Kody. I believe it was actually put forth by Meri to bring Janelle into the marriage, unfortunately I think it caused its own issues because they were such good friends outside of it.

Janelle and Christine are the two real people. They’re not into drama and making their issues and opinions the other’s problems.

After her speech,, I kinda finally understood why meri has stayed so long , when it seems evident to everyone her & kody just aren't happy -- she truly believes in polygamy and her faith/beliefs are keeping her there. To her, divorce would mean divorcing the whole family, and she just can't bring herself to do that.

Kody needs to rethink his hair choices...

From what I saw in another episode where Christine was talking to Meri "for the rest of the family", Christine explained that Meri has so much grief baggage from miscarrying, also losing half of her family and still not processing all of it- that "they don't know what to do with it". Basically she's never been emotionally supported through all the trauma in her life and they accuse her of pushing her baggage onto them when all she probably wants are people to be able to vent to without filter... like families are supposed to be.

Robyn didn’t get choked up, she was embarrassed for stuttering. So she improvised and handed it over to Kody with her face all contorted 🤭🤣

Often, yes. But in Utah it was actually decriminalized for a year, overturned in the appellate court and then it was not only illegal again, but penalties were even harsher.

I feel so bad for Meri. I wish her an Christine would move on an find happiness.
