What a strong group of friends, can laugh with each other, laugh at each other, and also able to have the important needed serious conversations with each other - one of the highest forms of love in my opinion! Thank you for sharing.

As a gay man, I really appreciate this!! Not everyone in my family is accepting, at least completely or as of yet which is why a chosen family would be even more needed and important for me and it just makes it that more meaningful and mandatory for me! I love you guys, God bless you allll!! ❤

I agree fully!
I would never use the word family to describe my circle of friends. My boyfriend and my dog are my family
I'm very jealous of people who were figuring themselves out at 19. What I remember about my teenage years is a lot of lonely and repression. I'm 36 now and finally I am coming to terms with being gay, and no small part of that is due to my found family that I started building in my mid twenties, before I'd uttered the phrase "I'm gay" with any certainty.

I bet there's someone who is in his 50s or 60s or 70s who is looking at you saying he is jealous that you're figuring it out at 36. I'm glad you've come to terms with it; we are all on our own timeline anyway. What's important is that you have people who you can count on help you along the journey. Thanks for the comment 😁

In addressing the notion about chosen family, my process was a bit different. I lived a number of places growing up and I made several friends with those who years later I learned were gay. I’m not sure if that was gaydar or not, but still is interesting nonetheless.

Absolutely there are lots of ways to slice and dice it. I also have chosen family who are straight.
