This has nothing to do with german immigration tho. They hired the french first to modernize their army but then the prussians after they beat france and united germany.

The Stahlhelm and the Wehrmacht style uniform in the Chilean army its only for ceremonies, for the combat gear we use most of the us standard equipment like the ACH(advanced combat Helmet), the same boots and uniform except for the vest, we use national fabrication ones. as an extra: we still but rarely use the ugly af UCP cammo :¨)
