Chicken Rice SAUCE | Amazing Flavour | Khao Mun Gai! Hainan Chicken Rice
This is another cracker of a dish!!!
Simple, fresh, healthy and packed full of flavour.
Here's the recipe:
100g Ginger
10 Cloves of garlic
40g Coriander
2/3g Coriander root
4 Tbsp Dark sweet soy sauce ( we added another 2 after tasting)
4 Tbsp Yellow bean
3 Tbsp of the sauce from yellow bean
3 Tbsp white vinegar
1 Lime
10 Thai bird's eye chilli
3 Tbsp of the liquid from pickled garlic
As with all Asian cooking this is a rough guide with regards to amounts, adjust for your own taste and spice tolerance.
If you want to make it spicier then toast birds eye chillies instead of large sweet chilli.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.
Enjoy!!!!!!!

Thank you, Chef! I haven't watched this fabulous cooking channel for a long time. I have been wanting to make this sauce. Can I make it a day in advance? Can I use this sauce for everything? Yayyy! 20K subs! This channel should get more viewers - it is the best cooking show!

I have exactly the same pestle and mortar. The best hainan chicken I had in Bangkok is pratunum chicken rice. We don’t have the same chicken species in America so it’s so hard to get the same quality of chicken rice. Thank you for the sauce recipe.

Thank you for sharing this delish recipe!!! Sadly coriander root is extremely had to find, even in well stocked Asian grocery. Can we just use extra coriander stems? I might have to think about growing my own coriander 🤷🏼‍♀️
