Me & my older brother were fortunate enough for our father to take us to Riverview Park on its last night in 1968 before its extinction. And why wasn't i told that Dennis' Place For Games became defunct? It was the last of the arcades in Chicago.

This background music is the same song I think played in my dad's head in 1977 after he stepped in dog shit walking into his office in Hinsdale then tracking it thru all the carpeting

Really enjoy these videos, but wish you wouldn’t cut so fast from image to image. It would be nicer to linger on them at least a little longer as now some rush by before they can even register. I know we live in an era of perpetual A.D.D., but it wouldn’t hurt to slow the pace a bit. Otherwise, your channel rocks, Pete. Keep the vids coming.

Ah, Raceway, beer, fights in the stands, fights between the drivers, scantilly clad girls, more beer and oh yeah, an occasional race. Kudos to my friend Don Dado, who when I was gone in the Army, started racing there and was rookie of the year. We were proud of you Don.

I remember my family once bought Home Juice Orange Juice in the glass quart bottle that i had to wash before i returned them for the deposit. Funcoland was the very first place i bought video games, now they're called GameStop.

It's so fun to go through your videos because I remember so many of these places. Seeing NEO (punk club when I went) reminded me of the VERY ODD and DISTURBING thing behind glass in the loong hallway that led to the club. Anyone know what it was?

Can’t remember what that was, Robin, but I do recall on my numerous visits to NEO being told what the “n” in the sign lettering was meant to resemble. Can’t unsee it!
