I remember back in 1977 my dad had a six pack of hams and decided to shotgun all but one. He threw the last can right through the window with the intention of stealing one of the dodges...he didn't even make it in the building before falling flat on his face and crapped his pants

My dad said in the 70s, this music was good office music, as he sat at his desk, meaningless papers everywhere, filling out those cheap font Xmas cards for local jerks, telling us liquor chocolates aren't for kids.....jeeez

John's Garage? Oh my God, I remember that restaurant. I knew the one at Woodfield Mall , but I mainly went to the one at Hawthorn Mall in Vernon Hills. Place was unreal , always packed. I miss that place!

Shit Man!!! this is Real Damn Deep on what you put out on What is & What Aint in Chicago No More! I Left Chi in Sept 69 on the Super Chief to Sunny L.A. where I'm Still Based Nearly 50 Years Later when I was 8 Years Old & was more Focused on L.A. Yesteryear, when I Saw your Collection of Clips of Vintage Chicago it Brought Back Memories. Mainly the Ford Dealership that's in this Clip, it Reminded me of the Now Defunct Bert Rose Ford Dealership that used to be at 101st & Michigan in the Roseland District on the South Side & Shut Down in the Early 80's, My Late Mother Bought Her 66 Mustang From there in November 65, & we Took it to L.A. when We Moved in 69, & Drove it until the Late Summer of 72. As Bob Hope would say... Thanks for the Memories...

1:56, Chicago Safeway lines, I remember a time when we waited on Halsted and 99th and we could take either a red bus or a green bus. Didn't matter. Safeway ran only on the southside and ended up I believe in the south suburbs from downtown. I remember the Red bus having quite a few riders especially in the afternoon. But you had no access to the elevated, you couldn't transfer from the red bus to CTA.

Safeway had straight shot route from Roseland(11100 south) to Michigan and Randolph in the Loop on South Park which after his assassination was renamed Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

Actually, that was the theme from the 1964 movie, "Walk, Don't Run". Also it was used for the Saturday Matinee movie on WGN-TV in the 70's.
