Dr. Alan Goldhamer is the co-founder of TrueNorth Health Center, a state-of-the-art facility that provides medical and chiropractic services, psychotherapy and counseling, as well as massage and bodywork. He is also director of the Center's groundbreaking residential health education program.
Articulate, inspiring and energetic, Dr. Goldhamer is one of the most pioneering and dedicated visionaries in health today. An outspoken professional who doesn't shy away from a spirited debate, he is deeply committed to helping people stuck in self-destructive cycles reclaim their ability to change their lives.
Dr. Goldhamer has supervised the fasts of thousands of patients. Under his guidance, the Center has become one of the premier training facilities for doctors wishing to gain certification in the supervision of therapeutic fasting.
Dr. Goldhamer was the principal investigator in two landmark studies. The first: "Medically Supervised Water-Only Fasting in the Treatment of Hypertension" appeared in the June 2001 issue of the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics. Its publication marked a turning point in the evolution of evidence supporting the benefits of water-only fasting. The second study: "Medically Supervised Water-Only Fasting in the Treatment of Borderline Hypertension," appeared in the October 2002 issue of the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine.
Currently, Dr. Goldhamer is directing a team that is developing a prospective study, incorporating random assignment and long-term follow-up on the cost and clinical outcomes in the treatment of diabetes and high blood pressure with fasting and a health-promoting diet.
After completing his chiropractic education at Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon, Dr. Goldhamer traveled to Australia, where he became licensed as an osteopathic physician. He is the author of The Health Promoting Cookbook and co-author of The Pleasure Trap: Mastering The Hidden Force That Undermines Health and Happiness.

Prostate cancer killed my dad. He drank three glasses of milk a day his whole life. when I was a kid I remember seeing him do this milk consumption thing. Then he had a daily yogurt habit for about 30 years. He was diagnosed at about 60. He lived until 88. he suffered badly for a 5 years at the end. He never got it treated. He was afraid of surgery he thought everyone was dumb / mistake prone and didn't trust doctors. (He was smarter than his doctor) he was a marathon runner and was very concerned about heart disease.

I really loved this interview! Getting an inkling into how these great friend tick was so informative and entertaining. A correction to Dr. Goldhammer in the discussion of the Covid 19 vaccine ingredients; polyethylene glycol is not antifreeze. It is used in laxatives (Miralax for example) and many other cosmetic applications. Ethylene glycol is antifreeze and very toxic. It is not in any of the vaccines.

I've been loving these conversations AJ's been posting lately, and this is one of the best. I love the good-natured kidding and their obvious admiration for each other. That said, I must say that I have been VERY disappointed by Drs. Goldhamer and Lisle's answers about the COVID vaccine. Dr. Fuhrman had an equally disappointing reply in the last video I watched. Yes, the COVID vaccine is new, but the science and technology used to engineer the vaccine has been around for decades. Comparisons to the efficacy of flu vaccines is not helpful, because the last time I checked the flu didn't kill 540,000+ Americans in a year. It seems that the good Drs. think that because they're healthy and fit (though they're NOT young) it means that they have almost no risk of contracting COVID, which kind of leans into the notion that those of us who eat plant-based think we are somehow bulletproof. Yes, the risk of death or serious illness is relatively low; however, young, fit people have been known to die or have serious, life-long health problems. Also, you could be an asymptomatic carrier which could infect someone who cannot fight off the virus as well. The 'get vaccinated if you feel like it' attitude is also not helpful. We cannot get back to normal unless 75-80% of the population achieves herd immunity. There are only two way to achieve that; 1. Vaccines, or; 2. Let as many people get COVID as possible which would lead to (conservatively) 2,000,000+ American deaths. The only physician I've seen (so far) on this channel with common sense regarding the COVID vaccine is good old Dr. McDougall, who ALWAYS follows the science and data. He advocates getting the vaccine. Here's a great, data-driven conversation with plant-based doctors that I think is much more helpful in explaining the realities of the vaccine. (I have no affiliation with the channel link in any way): kzread.info/dash/bejne/eayux9SeqbS2lbQ.html In short, get the damn vaccine.
