Dr. Alan Goldhamer is the co-founder of TrueNorth Health Center, a state-of-the-art facility that provides medical and chiropractic services, psychotherapy and counseling, as well as massage and bodywork. He is also director of the Center's groundbreaking residential health education program.
Dr. Goldhamer has supervised the fasts of thousands of patients. Under his guidance, the Center has become one of the premier training facilities for doctors wishing to gain certification in the supervision of therapeutic fasting.
Dr. Goldhamer was the principal investigator in two landmark studies. The first: "Medically Supervised Water-Only Fasting in the Treatment of Hypertension" appeared in the June 2001 issue of the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics. Its publication marked a turning point in the evolution of evidence supporting the benefits of water-only fasting. The second study: "Medically Supervised Water-Only Fasting in the Treatment of Borderline Hypertension," appeared in the October 2002 issue of the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine.
Currently, Dr. Goldhamer is directing a team that is developing a prospective study, incorporating random assignment and long-term follow-up on the cost and clinical outcomes in the treatment of diabetes and high blood pressure with fasting and a health-promoting diet.
After completing his chiropractic education at Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon, Dr. Goldhamer traveled to Australia, where he became licensed as an osteopathic physician. He is the author of The Health Promoting Cookbook and co-author of The Pleasure Trap: Mastering The Hidden Force That Undermines Health and Happiness.

I have a friend who is incredibly conscientious about most things but she can’t cross the threshold of believing the truth about nutrition- her doctors tell her something different, as do most mainstream articles in newspapers etc. I still think that’s the main issue. The mainstream medical industrial complex isn’t telling the truth- too much money at stake. It’s kind of horrifying when you look at the reality. Changing is hard even after you know the truth, but impossible if you do not have a clear view on reality. Personally I think we should be bringing ing class action lawsuits against medical groups, similar to what went down against big tobacco. Even if we lost, it would start getting a truthful narrative out there. I’m sick of watching my highly educated intelligent friends and family succumb to lethal ailments because they don’t get the truth from their doctors.

My brother brought to my attention a study about soy and the article wrote negative things about it. My brother said to me, see, it’s bad for you. I looked at the article and dug deeper to see the details. Sure enough, when the study was conducted soy protein isolates were used, and not the whole soy bean. Soy protein isolate is bad for you, the whole soy bean is good for you. In the article soy protein isolate was never mentioned. The article was totally trying to confuse the public and stir some readers away from the health benefits of soy. I had to explain this to my brother.

The fact that people cannot think for themselves and will fall for anything that is put out in the media is the biggest problem. I honestly couldn’t believe that someone would pester Dr. Goldhamer with a question about not eating 3 hours before bed. Seriously? Why would that be dangerous? We are doomed as a species.

That’s a problem with the American culture, everyone is so sensitive about words, words are just that and if we can’t call things what they are then how are we supposed to be able to communicate? Other cultures have no problem with calling someone fat if they actually are. And people don’t get offended. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Think this post is maybe what you refer. Natural Hygiene was taught by Natives to USA medical people & those teachings remained the law of the land up until the late 1800's when big pharma began to take over making Natural Hygiene unjustly obsolete until early 1900's when Herbert M. Shelton re-founded the orthopaedic practice at his health sanatoriums & by the 1950's he ran for potus, but big oil land grabs & big pharma swindles had a monopoly by then, also it was further corrupted by the liquor industry that had spiraled out of control as a drug of choice ever since the 1930's. So it is way past time to make Natural Hygiene a part of our daily lives again, as the once sober apple cart was upset too many times over the years by oppressive governmental inebriated addicts who have been increasingly abusing a once sound medical practice here in America for far too long. Here is my take on needed improvements for those who have yet them or even considered changing these corrupt current laws yet. Back around the 70's reagan began shutting down state hospitals to save taxes for the rich resulting in an ever increasing spiral of homeless street people & overcrowded prisons. Reagan was inebriated on his bubbly. That points to another mess up that occurred back in the 30's when they made alcohol their drug of choice as legal recreation & criminalized other intoxicants. Past time for a resolution to both these gross errors. 1- make all drugs & alcohol legal medically with supervision. 2-drug & alcohol test all law enforcement, politicians, educators & gun owners at their own expense, never as illegal recreation in use currently. Until those insane obsolete laws, rules & regulations are changed with appropriate resolutions the errors of the past will continue to escalate.
