You should also try the South Indian drink of ,”Payasam” or as they call in North India, “Kheer”. There are many varieties but the one with vermicelli, or semiya as we call it is what I like best

Hey, since you love beans so much, you should look up "Updrögt Bohnen" on Wikipedia. "Updrögt Bohnen" translates to dried beans and it’s an east-frisian (a small region in the Northwest of Germany) dish, that takes a lot of prep, but is absolutely delicious. I’d love to see you make and rate it.

That's an oscar-worthy ad transition if I've ever seen one
You'd think this channel could gzt gimmicky of fake but no, it's really good basics and no nonsense techniques, a way to do delicious stuff with minimal fuss, super useful even for a not student anymore. Also, as a Frenchman, I fully approve of this "grratin".😂
Oh my, what a feast! I considered myself fortunate to have only spent $200 (USD) on the family Thanksgiving dinner. I think my Dad will like tourtierre and the jam is a really nice touch. Plus, I have never had a parsnip, and it is now on my list of vegetables to try!

Always have parsnip roasted. It really is the best way to cook it.
My brother says that parsnip is his favorite vegetable. He a chef. I don't think I had ever eaten parsnip before he went to culinary.
Broke student or not this is a really lovely Christmas feast. Really love this video ❤
OMG, as a Québecois, I qad telling myself "he should make tourtière" when you showed the ground beef, forgetting you made it last year😂 I reslly hope the food advent calendar has a season 2 since it's what made me discover your challenge
When you did the "24 days of Christmas food around the world" series, I was so glad that you chose Vanillekipferl for Germany because the Holiday dinner can vary a lot between different regions. So, you can easily tread on someone's foot when talking about traditional German food. For example, in East Germany people did not have as much fancy food as the people in West Germany, who were actually able to afford it (they had a lot of food, just not as much fancy one). I always ignore recipes with venison, boar, canard or turkey, because I am not able to afford it. No, in my East German family, the typical Christmas feast always consisted of roast hare with red cabbage and Thuringian-style potato dumplings. It's not a several-course meal, and it doesn't need to be because it is still a very special dish for a family with not a lot of money.
This made me sad about the insane prices for basic, unprocessed foods in the US :(

Beef steak pie? Sounds like a winner. If you got some dried fruit, brandy and sherry and some suet you could make mincemeat and put it in a nice big 5 gallon glass or ceramic jar and make pies anytime you wanted. You are very creative. Keep doing what you are doing. I would like to see some Romanian and Hungarian specialties for Christmas too.
Everything you made looks incredible ! ❤
I am loving how you edit your videos 😭😂, You're making cooking fun . Coming from someone who doesn't know how to cook , you rescued me , thank you !!
Another amazing video. Love your holiday videos! Crossing my fingers for another 24 days of Christmas
You're a savior man! Happy holidays 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
You know when you are Romanian when you use and love Parsnips
Looks so good! 😊 Just a note, some fresh asparagus, with salt and pepper, some water to steam it and pop it in the microwave for about 15 mins. (Sometimes needs more time, depends on amount) and voilá a tasty last minute veggie dish. Always gets raves, rarely have to take home leftovers And all it costs is a bunch of asparagus, currently $2.38 here

Try ghunzakhi for any cultural series of your make sure it is authentic and isn’t dry pastry but dark brown in colour with brown sugar, fennel seeds and other spices of your choice and make sure to fry it. It should be not too dense but still dense and chewy in the inside.
I'm glad you made Tourtière!!! And it's also great with fruit ketchup by the way! Big love from Quebec, where Tourtière comes from!
You pour in the melted butter into the cream to remind it what it could of become.....if it just tried harder! Classic burn ❤😂

Great information ! The way you write dollar sign is before the number $30

Kwook "Everyone says they hate parsnip" Me: whats a parsnip? I'm from america
That ad intro was delightful, my dude
Dude! You gotta do the Christmas dishes around the world again!
The real for fruit sauces is about equal parts fruit to sugar. Depending on what fruits you use, you should adjust it up or down according to taste.
Parsnips!!! Beef stew with parsnips is no joke one of my top favorite foods (either number 1 or 2 depending on how much I’m craving my grandmother’s lasagna)
Try roasting the vegetables in a Corningware dish with some olive oil in the microwave for about 15 to 20 minutes. Pierce it numerous times with a fork. Works well with various types of hard sweet winter squash.
I love parsnips, and lotus root both are my favorite vegetables.
Unfortunatley the cost of an oven, dishes, and utensiles, brings the cost a little too high for a college student.
A tip from my family for those potatoes- a dash of nutmeg is perrrrrfection.
Amaizing video❤ you are amaizing! 💪
Great idea!
Bro nice transition to the AD xD
you can make a “gratin” with a light mayo instead of cream, just add layer of mayo with the layer of cheese, (or cover potato slices with mayo before layering them) and if it’s getting little bit dry while baking, add splash of milk. and dont forget to salt it, otherwise it will be plain af
There are way cheaper supermarkets in the Netherlands, you should try it! :) Love the dishes, now Im hungry
Parsnip is my favorite vegetable though! I LOVE it hahaha
under 30 dollas 😒 thirty one dollars your not gonna be upset
Both parsnips and carrots taste AMAZING when roasted after being tossed in a combo of cinnamon and dill! It sounds weird, but it's one of the best combos ever!

My mom makes the potato dish but with ground beef it’s very good with the right spices.

I respect the parsnip hype but what people are really sleeping on are rutabagas ( or swedes) I rarely ever see them used in any recipes outside of my country and im just wondering why??
@lynnejamieson2063
6 ай бұрын
I’m not sure which country you are in/from but they are part of Scotland’s national dish. They’re known as turnips in Scotland (and many other areas throughout the UK too), which are colloquially known as neeps, Scotlands national dish is haggis (a type of large sausage/pudding made from sheep offal, oats and spices), neeps (another word for Swedish turnip but in this instance served mashed with butter and ground pepper) and tatties (another word for potatoes but served mashed for this dish). It is also very common to have something called tumshy (I’m not 100% sure of the spelling as it is a dish only really cooked at home and as such, I’ve never seen the word written down) which is Swedish turnip and carrots boiled together until softened, drained (retaining the cooking water for making gravy) and mashed with butter and ground pepper…one of my favourite sides as a kid. Swedish turnip/swede/rutabaga/neeps/turnip…whichever word you name this vegetable, is also a relatively common ingredient in stews throughout the UK…and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Irish used a fair amount of them in the late autumn/winter/early spring too.

@@lynnejamieson2063 Ah I see! I'm from Finland and we use them in soups a lot too! I just never see them used in recipes from english or american websites. Glad to hear scotts and brits love 'em too^^ Now that Christmas is coming a lot of people hear eat what's called a rutabaga casserole. It's rutabaga, eggs, cream, a little syrup and spices baked in an oven and served along with other casseroles and christmas ham:)

@@jazkupazku that sounds lovely, I may have to give it a try. I think in general us Northern European countries tend to be overlooked largely when it comes to our cuisine, especially the everyday stuff that rarely make restaurant appearances (though that is obviously not the case when it comes to haggis, neeps and tatties, as it’s available all over Scotland). Maybe it’s because a lot of it is comfort foods with a lot of root vegetables and so not necessarily as pleasing to the eye as that produced by our Mediterranean cousins. Then of course the UK has a now unfounded reputation for bad food, which is a rumour consistently spread by those from the US that have never visited here or those who feel that to be classed as good food everything savoury must be over seasoned and over spiced (of the chilli variety) because why would you actually want to taste anything other than salt or chilli peppers…though many of our desserts are accepted.
I don't like rosemary so I guess I'm screwed. Seriously, I am going to make that French torture pie. It looks good.
