Oh yeah there was a horrible histories skit about the invention of the sandwich, where they mention people playing cards and how putting meat between two pieces of bread just became a way to stop their hands getting greasy while playing. I didn't expect this video to unlock such a deep memory.

Try a Black Friday Turkey Sandwich. Sourdough bread, spread some dijon mustard on 1 slice, put some left-over Thanksgiving turkey (or deli turkey works just as well) on top of that, some brie cheese on top of that, then some cranberry sauce on top of that, and the other slice of bread on top of that. You can grill it or serve it cold.

What is the 2023 sandwich
The great depression started in September 1929... I don't think I would define the 1920s with the Great Depression. In fact, the 20's was the exact opposite. Business was booming in the 20's (the decade was called the Roaring 20's)
I love the chemistry between the two of you!
When you started talking about the BLT, I thought you were going to make one of my favorite sandwiches ever, the club sandwich. :( Also, another popular one that's missing (especially since you have the Montecristo here) is the Cubano. Perhaps a second part video?
Tuna Melt only had a 7 because he burned it to a crisp underneath. You can see it at 11:47

Also, for tuna melts, it's better to toast the bread separately, add cheese to one piece of toast and melt in broiler/toaster oven, add tuna salad to the other toast, then put the two pieces together. That way you get the chilled tuna salad with the melted cheese and warm toast. Much better
I love how he's ok with admitting that he has no idea what he's doing sometimes 🤣
Interesting idea, love the episode!
You should try Chicago’s “Italian Beef Sandwich”. Italian beef is composed of thin slices of seasoned (flavorful) roast beef (sirloin), simmered and served au jus on a long French roll. It’s typical to get the Italian beef with cheese and spicy or sweet peppers. I like to add the Italian sausage to make it a perfect sandwich. It’s wildly popular here in Chicago and the local restaurant that popularized it has a local restaurant chain (not franchised) that was bought by a big investment company that is going to expand it nationally. Even before it was bought it had opened a handful of locations in Los Angeles area, Phoenix area, and Florida. It’s always insanely crowded.
We had bread before 1762, that bread was most likely cut into slices, what the hell were we doing with bread slices before the sandwich?

LOVE your content and sandwiches!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
My favorite sandwiches are the French Dip, the Cuban, and the Chopped Cheese Honorable mentions: Peanut Butter & Honey Sandwich, Eggplant Parm Sub, Patty Melt
The "plain sandwich" is basically a cheaper version of a Jambon Buerre.
Cold ham and butter is an awesome sandwich though (great way to use up holiday ham). I don't go anywhere near tongue though, can't recommend that version

Isn't this what a French jambon beurre is? Only on sliced bread instead of a baguette. For me, it's perfection as is, but I would add cheese because, well, cheese makes everything better :D 🥖🍖🧈🧀

@delirium129 I'll admit I've never heard of that. Usually it's not thin slices (even a spiral cut ham has about quarter inch slices usually), but conceptually if they're similar, cool!

Try Slovakian Breakfast: Raw Bacon (Slanina could be too), Raw Onions, Raw Potatoes and either some Slivovitz or Juniper Brandy
This was a very enjoyable video. I watched it while eating a sandwich.
If you did the 80s mark my word is would be a peanut butter and marshmallow fluff sandwich.
I recommend - cebularz - from Poland, it's kind of yeast bun, but flat, with onion and poppy seeds on top.
Man I was hoping they’d review the Reuben lol
Please try Mıhlama from Turkey. You will love it.
Duuude you please gotta try the Ecuadorian Breakfast its huge bro.

Try grilled cheese with a thin slice of tomato, & if the spirit moves you, some bacon- yummy. BLTs & Tuna Melts (with a thin slice of tomato) are my favorite sandwiches.

I just had dinner and after watching this I’m hungry again!!
Beef tongue is actually quite good and great in a sandwich. You might enjoy trying it, especially the smoked tongue.
Try mantu, it’s an Afghan dish and similar to dumplings. The filling is made out of ground beef, bengal gram and more. It’s a childhood dish of mine and it’s amazing if you do it right.

The butter sandwich skit was funny

This video made me look up Monte Christo recipes
Ham and butter is a popular sandwich in France today.
My fav is Italian Panini either Chicken Pesto with spinach and arugula or prosciutto, spinach, arugula and mozzarella or grilled squash, zucchini and eggplant with pesto all with garlic and olives and ton of olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
As a person who likes oysters, I'll have to try the oyster loaves haha
6:00 STG man mayo is either the easiest or the hardest thing ever to do and it all depends on the position of the sun, the alignment of the stars, which foot you got out of bed with and if you remember to wash your hands before cooking.
I have a recipe we always eat, and if you try it i want to know how good it is for you. 1 packet 2x Nuclear Noodles 1 packet Koka (Chicken flavour) a Singaporean noodle Cook it so that it is soupy but not too soupy and not dry. Sweet corns and green peas to taste with fired sausages on the side, with Coca Cola. It's our favourite snack when we have family/friend gatherings.
4:14 I'm dying rn 😂😂😂😂😂
That bread for the oyster loafs looks like something I used to buy at Albert Heijn 😂
You missed out on tongue! Tongue has to be my favourite sandwich item, please try it in the future
The Italian deli sub to me is more a roll than a sandwich but that doesn't change it's status as peak lunch bread thing
@tim.noonan

Nothing is rolled on an Italian. And the bread used is never referred to as a ‘roll’ like a dinner roll. It’s nothing like a British sausage roll either, for example. It’s a sandwich.
@FrostyFrostySnow

@@tim.noonan In Australia subs are considered rolls, same with it being a chicken burger instead of a chicken "sandwich"
@sean668

@@FrostyFrostySnowThat’s a thing I’ve noticed gets changed. In the US, the hamburger is the beef itself. You can eat a hamburger as just a steak with no bread, and if you go to very old fashioned places you might still see the original full name “hamburger sandwich” on the menu. But it seems like elsewhere, especially Australia and India, “burger” means a hot sandwich on a roll?

By the way can you rate the another Korean breakfast for a next KZread shorts??? Since I’m Korean(South Korea)
Also Next time on Making a Tuna Sandwich, Add Scotchbonnet Peppers, Dash of Onions and a Juce of Lime which will make the sandwich more flavourful
What a lovely couple.
You had processed american cheese from the grilled cheese right beforehand. Thats the cheese you use for a philly if you dont have ez cheese from the can. Those are the only acceptable options for that sandwich and somehow you ended up messing it up even though you had it on hand.

use mild provolone on a tuna melt or munster. also use albacore tuna. trust me senpai.
