I teared up during the last video while the tiler put up Anna's beautiful hand-painted tiles! Now I am full-on sobbing, it is just such a lovely work of art and so perfect for the new kitchen. A peice of your history as stewards of your chateau for the next generation to enjoy! I am a ceramicist on the side when I have time and I can tell you, what Anna created was not an easy task!

Kitchen absolutely stunning! However, the best guest star this week has to be ZIGGY - worried about Daddy on the ladder, trying his best to get comfy in a drawer, checking out the Island. I think he has given the kitchen 5 bones (stars) and so do we. A bientot!

The whole kitchen is gorgeous! The tiles exquisite and the lamps are fantastic! I have run out of superlatives but honestly the best château kitchen in France.

This past week I was tired of the news so I binged watched your videos. I now get the running gags of Philippe’s measuring/not measuring, donkeys, and yellow/orange in the decor. Funny, very cute funny. The comment that caught me off guard and really laughing was Philippe describing how he wanted the kitchen to look for someone passing by … pause … then he would have to shoot them for trespassing. 😂 and, I’m not even from Texas. To both of you, the kitchen looks beautiful! The tiles, the lights, the color, etc. Benoit is an artist.

This has been like watching a suspense film! I’m as glad it’s done as if it were my own kitchen 🤪 Love the end result, a tranquil space that can be accented in many different ways. And goes so well with the chateau.

I use it all the time in baking too for resizing recipes and figuring out volumes of different baking pans.

When you find a channel you love watching, you spend lots of time catching up with all the past videos... once done, its a week to week experience... would love to go back to daily chateau renovations🙂 but then, I have something to look forward to! I have found myself wishing for more color in your kitchen, but you are right, your choices show off the focal point, your tiles!! Ready for a stunning tease of color in little accoutrement around the counters, perfect backdrop for say yellow lemons and green apples in a creamy bowl or lovely 16 century flower pattern, etc. etc. etc. We call it pop!

I think they also wanted to add small details of color in orange I think but I'm not sure and I believe they also don't know exactly what they'll do yet. But that makes the anticipation for the final reveal even higher.

I could watch an hour of just Anna painting stuff and Philipp installing lights and sockets. It's oddly satisfying. Also the ending felt so special because you could really feel all the emotions between you two: the stress of the last months, the exhaustion but also the excitement that you get when you can see the finish line of such a huge project.

Kitchen is outstanding. So much thought into symmetry, historical context. The perfect blend of farm house aesthetics and modern functionality. Taking out doors, adding paneling, built in recycling, stunning hand made tiles… it will be so worth the wait to have it done right. So impressed with your DIY chops.

Stunning design! I love how traditional features like raised paneling and crown moulding were kept and/or added to the design. The symmetry of the space on either side of the chimney is very pleasing to the eye. And the colors are soothing. Gives me a new appreciation for a painted kitchen.

Philip, from a design aspect. I recommend 3 lights above the kitchen island. One centred, two to each side. Balanced. Visually pleasing. Influencer friendly.

agree! The kitchen is big and the lights while stunning are too small for the space… the rule of three applies, The kitchen is really beautiful i particularly love those unique tiles..

@@bugsygoo been used successfully by artists and architects for many centuries. But go on and say it's nonsense if it pleases you. It's one of the fundamentals you learn in both these diciplines, as well as everything relating to design, typography, photography, etc etc...

@@gnarbeljo8980 Yes, it did get mentioned when I studied photography, but only as a curiosity that pleases people looking to find patterns in everything, which is a human trait. The only 'ratio' in photography we did learn about was the rule of thirds, and then we were given the sound advice not to slavishly follow it. But if it pleases you to believe it, go ahead. But remember that Dan Brown is found in the fiction section.

Have you thought about lightbulbs that have silver on bottom. It reflects the light up and out into the fixtures. If the lights are too low in fixtures it can be blinding. Just a suggestion. Can't wait to see the lights on.

Lovely! Just wanted to share a simple hot fudge sauce recipe. ONE stick butter, ONE cup choc pieces, ONE can Eagle brand canned milk. Melt butter and canned milk/goo on low until melted. Pour in choc. pieces. Stir til almost melted. Remove from heat. Pour into clean jar. Let cool at room temp lid off til cold. Refrigerate. Try not to eat whole jar. Scoop out some in a coffee cup to re-liquify in microwave 10 sec+.

Pleasantly surprised by the cream & beige tones in the kitchen. Based on the intense colors in other rooms I expected the same in the kitchen. Tiles are spectacular ♥️

I agree. I have watched from the ‘get go’/beginning, “in real time” as quoted from Philipp explaining to a recent new subscriber who posted a comment. I highly recommend anyone coming across this channel to binge watch every episode.

Can't help thinking there was a golden ratio to calculate for the lamps as well! Looking so beautiful, it really is the kitchen dreams are made of!

For cabinet doors which don't close evenly get push to release magnet catches.

The pendant lights are great. IMHO three would make it even better. Odd number always looks much better.
