    Thanks, bro. What I liked about your vid is how you covered coal amount, temps and vent positions in detail. Can’t wait to give it a try.

    Thanks for such a thorough video. I have spent hours viewing BBQ videos and you covered some great BBQ tips on the fine aspects of cooking ribs, not just a review of the Akorn only. I own a gas grill, pellet smoker, and offset smoker. I am deciding between steel kamado vs ceramic, and you have given me some great info. One caution was using Akorn as low as 225 and the fire going out, and you said not to worry. I intent to use a kamado grill for slow smoking poultry, and simple hamburgers and steak over charcoal. Great tutorial.

    That was a great video. Just bought an Akorn last week and will season when the rain stops. Noticed putting it together that the ash pan was a pain to put on and latch. Any suggestions? Also can you vacuum ashes out from top?. Keep up the great work. Please do a packer brisket on one of your future videos.

    It is a pain to put the ash catcher on. It has to be lined up just right. You can vacuum out from the top, you would just have to pull out the charcoal grate in the bottom of the fire bowl. I have a brisket in the freezer! It's on the agend for the year! Thanks for watching Bill. Hope all is well.

    Nice video, ribs looked amazing. A friend gave me his well used Akorn last year and I have really enjoyed using it. A few days ago I was in one of my local Lowes and seen they had the Akorns marked down to $150.00, yep, half price. So obviously I took one home. Don't know when I'll have time to put it together but after I do I'm going to pass my old one on to someone else to give them the joy of Kamado style cooking without any risk. Hard to beat that.

    Those ribs look good! I just got an Akorn, how do you clean the stone?

  • @littlepigbarbeque9756

    @littlepigbarbeque9756

    3 жыл бұрын

    I would scrape it off with a small paint scraper while it's warm. Then rinse it off with soap and water when it cools. Normally, I cover the stone with foil which makes cleanup super simple. Just throw the dirty foil away and put on some new between cooks. Thanks for the comment! You'll love the Akorn!

    At 6:33 u said you were "hanging out at 225" when your temp said about 110. At 9:00 you said the temp was at 250 when it looked like 125 degrees🤔 Is this gauge accurate? My Akorn is coming tomorrow so this is why I'm asking. Thanks.
