I am so grateful to you and glad I came across this particular video, although I do love them all. I have been a Chanel No. 5 devotee for 100 years. Of course, I exaggerate a little. 😉 Anyway, I have had many bottles over the years of the EDP, parfum, and EDT. At some point I became convinced that I liked the EDP the best. Not so after all. One thing I know for sure is that I did not enjoy my last bottle of parfum as much as I used to. I just realized that was a splash bottle. You jogged my old memory with this video and I remembered that the parfum I liked in the past had always been in the spray bottles. I forgot that. I immediately got excited and logged onto the Chanel Store and ordered the travel spray! I got it today just before going to work and Immediately opened the package and sprayed. Yum yum lovely! I tried to spray it softly because I was already set for the day with the EDT. This too is because you made me curious enough to revisit it too and had forgotten how awesome it is. Strangely the EDT lasts longer on me than the EDP and is brighter. The parfum is better in the spray form somehow, it seems to make the notes sparkle and dance close to the skin instead of going splat and flattening out like they do in the bottle you tip and dab. Anyway, you reintroduced me to all aspects of a lifetime love and, in so doing, made my life much much better! Forever grateful!

Oh Dacob I love your perfume reviews! I love your appreciation of this fragrance most of all! As so many new gens call this “old or motherly” it’s just not! It’s magical. I’ve smelled so many perfumes in my life. I remember smelling Chanel 5 when I was about 8? My grandma had some on her vanity. One day I explored. All of them smelled lovely…but the 5? It was MAGICAL. It was unlike anything I had ever and still have ever smelled in my life. It wasn’t just a representation of flowers or a place or feeling ….it’s a masterpiece that someone created by imagination smelling and science basically….it’s a forever perfume! It doesn’t smell “old” it’s forever!! How you described the cold and waiting for things to come alive again when the cold fades? Omg yes! 🙌 it will always be a fav and you youngins calling it old??! Mamas lived and every man I’ve ever been with?? Would lay their nose in my neck for hrs…saying oh you smell so good!! Ahhh

I just bought my first Chanel #5 yesterday. A Black Friday gift from my husband. After busy 8 hours in my own Big box retail store starting at 5am, I did some personal shopping. I love it. Enjoyed the box opening. First smell. Beautiful on my vanity. Thank you for what you do each week.

I must admit you're the one who seduced me into Chanel's purfum world, while I was studying aromatherapy. I've since then stored a few bottles of No. 5 extrait refills, and this post reminded me why. I once when I went for hiking, I smelled jasmine and was looking for the flowers and couldn't find it - it was the time I realized Chanel uses active/living natural organisms - it was the No. 5 extrait I sprayed on my ankles that morning, (and that day I saw a hummingbird!). My favorite is Rose de Mai from France. The absolute oil is sitting in front of me right now. Such a high vibrating oil I've ever felt. No. 5 is a magical combination of the numerology and precious plants' extracts that was chosen by the universal laws of attraction. I do hope Chanel will continue to keep the DNA alive. May is called the gold month. Such a miraculous sophisticated elixir that still exits. Gold and the green background you used is such a symbolic combination of No. 5 ✨ P.S. Your attempt to get the last droplets of No. 5 extrait gave me chuckles 😂 Cute!

Dacob! I just received my parfum spray only to find that it had no plastic seal and a finger print on the gold plate, the box that the spray actually came in was ripped as well. I went to your video that you did 2 years ago to confirm my suspicions and my heart dropped :(, I purchased this from David Jones (Neiman Marcus of Australia) which is an authorised Chanel seller. The vial it's self is 4 years old and 98% full judging by my comparison of the one you just unboxed. Can't return it either since it came with no packaging! Super bummed about this and this experience has tainted what was supposed to be a special moment for me to discover N5 😢

I always learn so much from you Dacob. I am wearing my favorite No. 5 today….Eau Premiere.

The first time I ever smelled Chanel No5 was when I was about 10 years old. My grandmother had a bottle and it was one of the old dab on bottles. I was absolutely blown away by it and didn't realise that anything could ever smell so good! I still feel the same about it 40 years later I love it! I absolutely enjoy the edt of number 5 I picked up a new bottle last year and have been going through it faster than any other fragrance in my collection. I love the deep drydown it gives off such a beautiful smell. I would love to try the Parfum sometime.

Thank you 🙏🏻 The No5 Parfum 7.5ml Spray and refills are still in production and distribution. Might not be available in each country though.

I love No 5 Parfum, but I also love the classic bottle. I wish it came with the spray! It is such a pain to apply using the stopper! So when I buy it, I just transfer it into a small spray bottle and carry it with me. And yes, I have the "lipstick spray", I just love the classic bottle. :)

Hi Dacob! I just rec'd my son's birthday pkg and the samples came with a black bag with a No 5 charm on it! Adorbs! I chose the classic gift box option and that's how the samples came PLUS there is the holiday beige and silver shimmer ribbon on the box! I hope my son appreciates all the goodies...or should I snag a couple for myself....who's gonna know....😉

I've been influenced by your love of No 5 and discovered Eau Premiere, which gives me out of the shower, before bed vibes. I love the vanilla note they used; reminds me of the vanilla in Sublimage. I ordered it for myself for xmas. I tried the extrait too and it's very interesting and I totally get the snow analogy. How long does one of the 7.5ml extrait spray bottles last you? Merry Christmas Molly 🎄💖 the 7.5ml extrait spray lasts me a few months if I use it sparingly. Its not a concentration one uses each day. Its quite potent.

I can’t smell 5 without thinking of my sister….mine became 22 because didn’t want to compete, and I love it. Many other Channel fragrances, Coco, Allure, Mademoiselle and 19 a bit became part of my fragrance closet. Wow…..I’m not sure why love Channel fragrances so much, but I do.

The Chanel perfume DNA is unique to their perfumes and its unparalleled in my opinion 🥰

Everyone, men and women, should smell No. 5 extrait. It is a beautiful experience. The first time I smelled I closed my eyes and saw white and beige, I didn't even throw away the blotter. It is one of the few perfumes that has done this. The other one that transported me to a flower garden was Jardins de Bagatelle. What are your thoughts on the Coco Mademoiselle extrait? I have never smelled it.

most people do not buy parfum/extrait because it's too expensive per ml. parum/extract was a lot more popular up until the 90's when the regular edt and edp came in a splash bottle without a spray nozzle. these days department stores no longer carry traditional 1 oz, 1/2 oz, and 1/4 oz parfum/extrait with a thick glass and stopper anymore. parfum/extrait is like the thing on the past for designer fragrances these days. if there is not much demand for it why promote the product and make special packaging for it.

Because most people do not know they exist. Thats why promotion is vital. No5 is not such a best seller because its a great perfume. There are many great perfumes out there that have reat prices but almost nobody buys them. They don’t buy these perfumes because the brands owning them do not invest a penny in promoting them. Most people today do not even know of the extrait concentration of No5, let alone its spray version. If chanel actually promoted it, I believe its sales would rise considerably.

The parfum sold out? They are still producing the parfum of No5 so it will be back in stock. Just not sure if they will keep selling the 7.5ml spray version in every country…

You have to tilt the bottle so the drops are right beneath the tube. 🤭

I seem like in the minority, as I never liked Chanel No 5. It must be my skin because it has a chemical smell to me. I do have these small refill bottles , 3 in a pack, as I didn't know if I'd like it, so I got smaller size. I can't find anyone who likes no 5 ,to give it to.
