Casting deck lake test Colorado XTS

Casting deck for Colorado Float boat lake test. Sorry my wife lost about half the footage from a corrupt file but it’s very stable and I was able to fish for several hours standing on the table deck. Table fits the Colorado XT & XTS see the either videos on my channel for the build info.

Quick Question: What is it like trying to row with the oars when you are sitting up that high? Would the 4" post be better? No post? I plan on fishing some lakes that don't allow motors of any kind, but also lakes that allow electric. Thanks for your reply.

I used the same kind of PVC frame but used plywood instead and just screwed it down through the PVC. Works freaking great!

That woks great too. Just adds more weight, I wanted a factory finish the black table top has that for me and it’s light weight. Plywood will be stronger and won’t have much flex I’d imagine.

Bass Fishing Family #BFF Great design and thanks for the ideas! Did you ever try using your oars? I tried using mine just in case my battery died. Since the seat is much higher I couldn’t get the oars out of the water lol.

13RodFishing yes it would be a pain to use them worse case and that almost happened to me recently where my trolling motor connection was bad and paddling wasn’t much of an option. That’s another issue to figure out in the future

Bass Fishing Family #BFF I was thinking of just buying a kayak oar and see if that works for emergencies.

Hey man I'm looking to do this same thing, how big are you? Did you have any stability issues while standing up at all? I wouldn't think so just curious.

Daniel H none at all, sorry for the late response on this but it is very stable. I have bad knees a and went from a kayak to this it’s much better for standing.

@@PatrickAviator cool thanks 🙏. I have a 9’ outcast pontoon boat I think I will do something similar. Probably out a swivel and a new padded seat and suspend the platform under the frame a few inches.
