    took 2 years to build mine i used PVC for the frame cedar decking I bult a 4 way adjustable cherrywood seat, brass oar locks and 2 zipper bags that came with the tubes took a spin in it to make sure it worked ok and sold it to a nice older couple it had 30 minutes of use on it now I can build another one

    Like the battery box mounting idea. Going to do that on my XTS's. Mine is a battery box power center though. Can plug my electric pump in it when I need air and it's got a power meter on it for the battery which is handy. Love the video and ideas...thanks!

    Thanks for the video. The standing platform modification was literally kicking my butt, as I have tried a couple of my own ideas and also copied other designs. Nothing was satisfactory for my needs. This should get it done. I also liked the seat pedestal idea so that I can still use it as kick boat on occasion.

    Great job. About as good as it gets for a simple cost effective modification. I just purchased a Colorado used pontoon boat. Sold my fishing boat last summer. I was wondering if I could take sitting all day on this new pontoon but I may just have to modify it with a pedestal seat and a fishing platform for sure👍🙏

    Great mods and ideas. Now they want about 70 bucks for that table so I will go with 2X2 plywood until I can find a reasonable replacement. I will still use that framework as it looks very stable and it gives me rod holders out of the way of my oars, rowing, etc. Bolting the battery box in the formally unusable area under the seat, good voodoo! If not using a battery, it would be good storage. Now if you had provided measurements for your PVC cuts...it would be 5 stars!

    Just watched your video. Great idea! I am considering this pontoon. Typically fish rivers and lakes from kayak. How would you consider this to float as far as speed. Seems like it would stop moving the second you stopped paddling

  • @PatrickAviator

    @PatrickAviator

    4 жыл бұрын

    Brad Dixon so I mostly kayak unless I’m on a river and want to float the river. You’re correct it doesn’t have much for a drift once you stop paddling. On a lake it will catch wind and blow around more than a kayak will. The inflatable pontoon is great on rivers both low and high intensity, for lakes I use my kayak.

    Just finished cutting mine today. The table I picked up has a different leg design (a frame) and I think that gives even more support. I have a question......does the part of the table that goes under the battery box bow in a little in order to tuck it in? The rest of the table rides the support frame of the pontoon.

    Not meaning to hijack your thread but I noticed you have a trolling motor. I have the Colorado (not XT). I bought a Minn Kota C2 30 with 30" shaft. Manufacturers rec is maximum 36" shaft but doesn't suggest a minimum. Is my 30" shaft going to cavitate to the point where trolling would scare away fish or much ado about nothing?

  • @PatrickAviator

    @PatrickAviator

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hey there Scott no worries honestly I had the same 30 inch but wasn’t happy with it so went to a 42 inch shaft. Only because when I would lean forward it would cavitate. If you’re 200 lbs with a battery balanced like mine just stay in the seat. It should be fine.

    Don Payne I was running the endura 30 but moved to the traxxis after this video. Better performance and battery management. The boat sits so level that the endurance 30 was coming out of the water unless I leaned back so don’t go with the shortest shaft on the endurance series which is a 30 inch shaft. Go something 36 inches or longer .

    That’s all good and dandy but it’s completely unnecessary. You don’t need that table all you need a 2 x 2 piece piece of wood. You don’t need to spend 30 something dollars to get a table to do this. A simple 2’ x 2 foot piece of wood will suffice just as well and doesn’t cost you nothing
