Carrick bend round mat
In this tutorial I show you how to make a Carrick bend rope mat. This pattern is featured in the Encyclopedia of knots and fancy rope work.
I used 1/4 inch (6mm) rope here, this time jute.
You can make the mat bigger or smaller by adding or reducing the number of loops made.

You do such a good job of explaining! So clear! You are the best. Thank you so much!
Beautiful congratulations. Clifford W. Asley would have been proud of you!
Very nicely done. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks man, I've had that yankee encyclopedia since 1980 and never been able to follow their vague and brief descriptions.
This is so intricate and beautiful. Thank you for sharing 🌟!
yes, it is beautiful.
Me encanta buen maestro. Gracias bendiciones..!!
I'll get on to making it later this week, thanks :)
Thank you for sharing
Muy buena explicación!!
Maravilloso trabajo.
You are amazing !! Your work is stunning and professional. You only say what is necessary and relevant and that makes it simple to learn. Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us. Where do you get your waxed lashing thread from and where do you get the rope that you used for this mat ? Love and Peace, Catherine
Hermoso diseño
Great tutorial Mark. Going to have a go at it myself, but can you tell me where you get the polyester thread you use for your lashings from? I can’t find any decent thread anywhere, or the ones I do find are prohibitively expensive.
I wouldn't consider that intricate but nonetheless as a very beautiful piece. Well done (as always). 💪🏻👍🏻
ME GUSTARIA QUE PUSIERAS SUBTITULOS EN ESPAÑOL. TUS TRABAJOS SON MUY INTERESANTES. TE SIGO CON MUCHO INTERES PERO CON GRAN DIFICULTAD
