In this tutorial we cover a glass jar with rope in order to create a decorative as well as practical lantern. Enjoy!

That hitch is one of the very first tutorials you ever did. : )

Lovely project. This also contains the best explanation of how to do a woven splice!

Beautiful outcome from a simple half hitch.

been looking for an eight-faced version of this hitch for a while. I want to do handles in this style for my cocobolo wood nunchaku, and they have octagonal handles. Most tutorials have hexagonal ribcage hitching. It turns out to be almost identical, but I'm new to this so I appreciate the video.

Mark, your stuff is beautiful and your videos are excellent. I made a bunch of your paracord crosses to use as keychains and gave them as gifts. After several years people still thank me. It would be useful if you told how long your projects take you in actual working time. Thanks for doing the splice! I have stayed away from bottle hitching because of the tediousness of working with long cords. I will give this a try now! Keep up the good work.

Nice one, again! What diameter rope did you use for the hitching?
