I always wanted to see this knot. I saw this knot when I was in the Mexican Navy. This knot was used as a mat in the entrances of the bedrooms of the sailors and others rooms. Thanks for the vídeo 🇲🇽⚓🚢

A really good book of knots is the Ashley Book Of Knots. Over 600 pages and 4,000 knots. The only book you'll ever need.

When fusing if you cut the end of the cord on a 45 towards the cord your fusing to it sticks better and looks better...thanks for the vid helped me a lot

Can you use this pattern with nylon half-inch rope? And how would you connect the ends like you brazed the nylon parachute cord?

Ok, I've been watching a few of your videos every day, and I already know about your G Shock, but I'd like some info about the watch you're wearing in this video. If you could help me out with that, I'd appreciate it. Thanks. Also, thanks for this video.

Should the starting loop be bigger the more wraps you intend to put into this, or does it grow as you put more wraps into it?

The starting loop should be bigger if you want to make the mat bigger. It's hard to expand the starting loop.

How do you tighten the mat if it’s too loose before you fuse the ends?

Have you (or anyone else) ever determined a formula for determining what size and length line and starting knot would eventually lead to a particular size knot in the end? I’m looking to make several of these for mats of a specific size for in the various places in my sailboat.

A safe bet is about enough line to cover the area with 2 layers.

And Nylon/paracord is great...... unless you're using these for hot pots ect. . Nylon burns/melts. Hot applications need manilla, jute, hemp, or Sisal.

Nice video. I only wish there was some instruction for how much rope to measure out before getting started. It sucks wasting so much rope because you didn't cut enough.

Doesn't work for me because as I'm weaving I'm losing space/gap in the inner section of the piece. Am I that thick? I'd say it's hard to estimate the size/spaces of the initial shape
