He was stupid in his argument; but your remark is bottom ground silly; in that that a person's opinion holds little weight based on their uncontrollable past, proposedly, their 'ineffective past'. That he's an "amateur" and he should have had the presence to know the difference between a court battle and a QnA session. Sadguru even spared him the humiliation that would've scarred him for life by asking the audience to not "boo" or "cheer" one's opinions. Just goes on to show the ego of the law student and how these people are going to shape our country on woke issues. The law boy is probably like a street dog, looking to pick a fight with any animal that he lays his eyes upon. Just unbelievable what kids do these days. Our culture is the most ancient and we have even changed according to time. When we say in few temples women are not allowed there are also temples which does not allow men as well. So, this makes it fair. Besides, our history reveals that women were also equally respected from ages unlike most of the religion . I am a Hindu and in my tradition we follow a matriarchal system where surname and ancestral or culture is taken forward from the mothers family and not husband/father. Believe me, not even western culture has this kind of beauty. If there are differences or arguments, not any catholic or other religion has a say to it. It is for us to deal. Now if I say in catholic they do not follow matriarchal system that is discrimination to women..... WILL THAT DO?

Obviously, the boy is not cultured. Irrespective of his religion. Our tradition does not allow us to use words like "stupid" either to elders or to our teachers (gurus). Difference of opinion was always settled by "shashthart" which involved deep knowledge of the subject, logic, philosophy, and the art/science of arguments. Nothing was visible in Joe's arguments.

he did carefully answer by saying: "if there is discrimination it should be carefully looked at and addressed" but most of the time there isnt an issue because people are using common sense. people who are being discriminated against are a very small percentage but In these modern times however, people who have a political agendas use shock value to gain more for themselves. Is that what happened here? I mean Joe was definitely upset and angry, which did not make his speech better, but did Sadhguru not tickle that out of him? Joe mentioned his high regard for the e-commerce of Sadhguru before asking a question. I think to establish that he respects him and is not an enemy. Sadhguru then attacks him personally and repeatedly without need. Why is he not answering his question, but acts as if Joe criticised his voluntary organisation? Joe did not do that but is beeing told, that he doesn't understand that commitment and that he is less educated than Sadhgurus followers. How does Sadhguru know that? Why is he talking so much about Joes presumed lack of respect and knowledge for/of the culture? Instead he could have simply talked about the issue instead of the person asking. Doesn't that seem like wasted breath of a wise man?

One more incident i can tell is i visited shiva temple and came home and ate non veg. That night, i had a very bad experience in my life that day in my dream, shiva himself was in a rudravatara. I can still remember his face and posture. Very fearceful.. I stopped having non veg before or after going to temple.,

i'm a christian by faith and practice. I'm regular to church for almost 40 yrs. Had 12 yrs of chrsitian catechetical studies as we call 'sunday school' in Kerala. We hv always learned equal respect to all religions & we were taught the indian adaptations into christian worship, the inculturation etc. In christian theological schools in India we hv courses on Hindu philosophy, Bhagavat Gita. We learned also Vedas, Puranas & Upanishats. Teachings of Swamy Vivekananda, Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Advaida Sidhanta.. were all part of our studies. We had also 6 months compulsory Sanscrit language course. All taught by christian scholarly priests & also hindu professors. Here I like very much the explanation of Sadhguru regarding the difference of indian temples and its objectives. Usually we see mis-judging certain norms and rules of indian temples basing on the western or secular or capitalist understanding. Sri Sadhguru's explanation on this subject is an eyeopener.

Sadguru has a subtle way of insulting someone. He just kicked Joe's arse with surgical precision and Joe doesn't even know it. He is just grabbing at whatever silly things he can guess and he's falling further into the territory meant for assholes

I am from the west and his ignorance was shameful and embarrassing and did not highlight even his academic accomplishments. He does not understand the world beyond the surface even within his own religion so we cannot expect him to have a wide understanding of. I love India and its multitude of religion and culture and so I understand how to voice my opinion even when opposing with respect that he lacks. He said he didn’t answer it but he did in the first segment. He said it is a prescription therefore explaining as mr Joe said also that if they choose to go against this then that is their right as we say in the west their right to make ill decisions as set by law. But a woman with knowledge/religion/spirituality/faith will trust or enquire about why there is a restriction and make a choice that suites her. As for if they will not be grated entry as he said in many places in the west we are told where we can and cannot go and fairness or equality doesn’t even factor into it and they have no deep accent or spiritual reasoning. I for one don’t need a man as such to fight for something that I didn’t ask for but there are many rights I would love support from our male counterparts and we don’t see them anywhere. I may be wrong this feels like he just wanted to put down Sadhguru and I’ve had my time to feel this with him but what I believe is even those who gain from spirituality are only a product of society that does not mean all they share all they know all they bring to this existence isn’t noteworthy just that with power comes vultures and either corruption or you sell a little bit of yourself your aim to avoid the large scale corruption or loosing yourself completely. Anyway just my 2 pence from a black woman from the west half living India married to a Brahmin raised Christian with a Muslim father 🙏🏾

"Mr. Joe" thought he was in a news channel debate and that he was owning the moment. Little did he know, period.

I never agreed that a women in period should not enter a temple or a pooja room. I even now enter into pooja room at my home. But after marriage when my in law insisted not to enter pooja room during periods, i disagreed and i went to make the pooja room ready. I dint had any such fear what happens if i enter. That night i had a very bad night mare and i stopped entering pooja room during periods. But i still do pooja when am at my parents house. It is a believe and the energy that exists there.

At present time in India is very much discrimination about the caste discrimination, racial discrimination

Me as a Hindhu may not like many things abt islam or Christianity but i will let people from those communities to talk about them. I believe those communities also have smart people who will challenge them if necessary.

I’ve recently commenced different yoga practices and breath work and there are certain techniques that females should avoid if pregnant or during their cycle ( for their own benefit) that’s not discrimination, so I can understand that what Sadhguru was saying made a lot of sense and not for a moment did I think it was discrimination. P.S love the way he remained calm and spoke with respect 🙏🏽😇🪽💙

Sadhguru led me the way to salvation.. that’s all I can say he pointed the way and I walked on my own 🙏

I learn from Buddha's teachings. It is a simple but disciplined way of life, and it is more than enough for inner peace. It seems like Sadghuru buckled a bit here. Perhaps people are pedistalising him, but it is to be expected with a name like sadghuru and what he stands for. I definitely felt nervous energy. No disrespect, but it wasn't what i expected from someone who's supposedly enlightened. Anyway, what does it really matter, he's not doing anything wrong. I wish him and all those guided/misguided, nothing but love, compassion, and liberation. ❤

Some people don’t want an answer because no answer will satisfy their motive for asking a question. Perhaps this old Chinese proverb will convey the essence of such a stance: “Do you need to light a match to see the sun?”
