At 1200 I play in open rapid tournaments against 1800 - 2200 regularly. If I win, +16 and if lose -1 or 0. I only have to win once in 15 games to be ahead. It;s more fun and I learn a lot.

    Hi, I rly like c5 idea. but I struggle to 1. e4 c6 2. d4 d5 3. e5 c5 4. dxc5 Nc6 5. Nc3 This leads to moves that are quite unusual for me in caro kann. There is no option to move out the C bishop. You can't get the undefended e5 pawn because Nxe5 6. Qxd5 Qxd5 7. Nxd5 and Kd8 because you risk a double attack.

you should already know the answer is variance at 2000-2200, the difference is the time they put into playing games not always learning and improving cause some things are simply a grind like elo you must play consistently at a high level to win many games to increase elo.

Hi. I wonder why you dislike the idea of taking the king off the board when check mated. I have never done that because I haven't played over the board a lot, but the idea sounds appealing to me. I always wonder why people stop short of one move when they checkmate somebody. After all, this is the purpose of the game, PLUS I think it is great to understand how to win for beginners. Cheers
