Wow the chessable app is so bad. I cannot search and find you or the course on it. The link works by going to the website but that app is a POS
I’ve been avidly into chess for the past 2 years and have watched probably over 1000 hours of tutorials and without listing them all let’s say I’ve exhausted the libraries of the big sub chess streamers out there. Yet, without question, your videos are by far the best, most instructive and useful out there bar none. And your dry humor and wit really adds to the fun. Here’s hoping for a future of millions of subs as you most certainly deserve it my friend.

@@benisahengaming9063 wow dude congrats. I've been playing chess for almost exactly 1 year. I started at like 250 elo and just hit 1350. Not that impressive but its so much fun to continually see improvements. Keep going and you will be amazed at how far you can go over time.

Watching Alex's clock going down to 10 seconds, talking casually, looking straight into the camera as If there was no time control and easily mate the first opponent, is such a baller way to start the video haha. Gotham got me into the caro kann, Alex made me stick to it. Thanks for the strongest content, Alex. Bless

The good reason to explain the threat in every move is because lower level players are too slow to find the threats themselves so pointing it out helps them keep up. Also it helps reinforce the idea that when you play a game of chess, ideally you are solving a tactical puzzle for both white and black every move
Caro-Kann has something oddly satisfying to it, even tho the structures of some advanced Tal variations are painful to me. Really good video!
An opening tier list video would be great Alex. Thanks for your videos, they are great.

Dude I discovered your channel last night and can I just say what a blessing. My win rate on the caro is shocking and you are the only one that covers beginner mistakes like this. Thank you for the content
great banter on this one Alex !
Honestly watching your videos has helped me more than all other videos on chess combined. Its good that you teach through practice what players at lower levels might actually do, instead of just theory.
Even if you don't or cannot always do it, I appreciate that you're looking for moves that might make sense for lower rated players. Even pointing out the more advanced ideas while taking the simple move is good. Thanks for the videos
Amazing video. Just found your channel yesterday and the videos I watched have been really informative. I haven't played chess in ages but watching you play and explain what you do makes me wanna play chess again.
Brilliant video as always Alex

you make it very easy to understand and you are very laid back
Love your videos 🔥🔥
One more comment, I don't want to add too much to my other one. That third game is also what happens a lot. People just see a trade and the jump for it. Like that guy kept doing even though he was down material. So when it comes time don't forget to highlight when we shouldn't accept those trades or how to deal with belligerent players lol. Some of them will not take no for an answer so maybe ways to set them up to give up more than they thought (if you get one). But now that I've finished the video I'm going to go watch more of yours, you might be one of my favorites just from your calm way of teaching. I love the calm!
Alex I learn a lot from your games. And I also like your cool, chilled personality and accent. More powers to you.

I'm a caro kann player rated 1100 rapid 900 blitz. but I learned a lot more watching your videos. The knight rotation especially and when castled you take with the hpawn to create the box pawn structure. I usually take with the f pawn to open up the rook which was a mistake in the tartakower. You have gained a new subscriber mate! Looking forward for your tier list video for beginners

I was just listening to this as I played chess and I played my best game yet. First, I trapped my opponents queen, then I saw the fork on C7, but, I didn't realise that it was actually checkmate because my bishop covered the two escape squares. This game also got my rapid rating to 600, it was also my 100th rapid game, first checkmate with a knight, and I think the highest accuracy game I played yet at 97.

On around 5:10 i thought that pawn to h6 defending the bishop and advancing with the pawn which is still protected and unlikely to be picked by the knight might be a good option. I’m 500 rated though, so I wanna hear your thoughts. Are there any other disadvantages aside from blocking the bishops field to go back in case its needed later in the game?

Instead of an opening tier list I’d love to see your recommendations for amateurs against 1. d4. Is there anything as straight forward as Caro?
So the dark squared bishop comes out to d6 on the tartakower variation, but only comes out to e7 on the other variations?? i'm confused about where the king-side dark squared bishop should go
You were funny in this video! Love the Caro khan. Something that would be instructional for myself. A lot of streamers always try to play to the level of the rating of the speed run. Therefore not playing the best move in the position but I would find it very useful seeing the best move in the position and an explanation behind it. Anyway just my two pence! Learned the VERY important chess strategy that reporting for stalling leads to insta-win!
@vitahast
Жыл бұрын
i assume on the server they use the engine to check if the position is losing before granting the insta-win. stalling when you know the position is losing is bad sportsmanship but i guess sometimes its not obvious the position is losing and you are just using your time to find a move that doesn't lose. i wonder how the server logic handles this because there are positions which are losing but maybe its not obvious for a human what the winning continuation is.
I mean, playing so hard against 800 and not crushing in first 20 moves. Solid play
"Velcome to my laborratorry where CASTLING is number wan priorrity"
Its been 1 months playing chess my elo is 500 hope your video help me to climb the rating ladder
Guys help. I move the king pawn and move two of my knights defending that and get the bishop out to attack opponent knight Is this called sicilian ?
51:00 what about Qb8?
thanks for all the content you make! I am around 1000 rapid so these climbs are great for me to learn! I have a suggestion regarding what move to make when you debate between an 800 move and a better move. I think you should show the better move, saying that "an 800 thinks like this so I will make this move" makes me think that we don't want to move like an 800, we want to learn the better moves or we will keep thinking like an 800, just my 2 cents.
@codybuse7407
Жыл бұрын
I agree with your comment. I would also prefer if he played the better moves, but he is not saying that it's a bad move. He is showing there are often multiple good moves in a position, and he wants to play the ones that are easier to find, so it is more replicable for beginners.
