The Contender at 3:00 min is the first boat I have seen where the kids are wearing PFD’s(life jackets ) on one of these videos . Thumbs up to the captain . As an Australian it has been law here for years all children have to wear a PFD in a boat & everyone has to wear one on a bar crossing .

@Dartgame 340 great point. Safety culture is cancer. Fucking live a little bit. I go overboard all the time for fun, just to go on a little swim 50 miles off the coast of Hatteras. Nice warm water out there in the Gulf Stream. The only thing that kinda scares me are the pilot whales that come outta nowhere or the odd blue or hammer head sharks. To be fair, i was a life guard in nags head for most of my twenties and I still surf almost daily. I’d consider myself an excellent swimmer with vast knowledge of the ocean in general.

@Dartgame 340 true the last 2 years here has gone down the toilet . But when you have pulled a few drowning people out of the water you’ll have a lot more respect for the ocean , Mother Nature doesn’t care how rich you are or how many 350hp outboards you have everyone drowns all the same kids just go down a bit quicker . The last person I rescued took me 1 1/2 hours to get in lucky I had a 7’6” mini mal not a short board or I may not have got him in

Part of the problem is that they drop 200k plus on a boat and then go with the absolute cheapest block of foam around your neck lifejackets on the market; for $50 to $75 you can get a decent watersports lifejacket that has minimal impact on your movement.

@@TheDowntimesfl that’s not why Evinrude went out of business. and the same Hull will be faster with 2 G2 300’s than with 2 Suzuki 300’s The Evinrude‘s are lighter and produce more torque they’re also more fuel efficient and produce less emissions! I’ve got nothing against Suzukis or any other four strokes, I bought my Evinrude‘s used with over 1000 hours I’ve almost double that now and never had a single issue It’s also nice only having to service them every 300 hours instead of every 100 hours I also love the fact that the steering is internal and requires no cables it was a sad day when Evinrude went out of business due to draconian Covid policies they were the first company to produce mass production outboards and the last American manufacture , by the way even though they’re out of business they still honor all warrantees

I mean, the entire country has gone to shit, and don’t even try to blame the past administration, all their policies have been wiped out due to Brandon’s, or his puppet masters, incompetence. Ah, who am I kidding, it’s not incompetence, it’s 100% deliberate. The new normal, remember?
