Hell, yes.

I guess none of these captains know anyone personally who had a bad day on the water and never made it home to their family. Put on a PFD when boat is in motion, especially in conditions like that. Take it off as soon as safe to do so. Pretty easy

I don't know much about maritime design, but it really seems like the Grady-White hulls are a superior shape for these sorts of conditions. Many of these boats look like they belong on inland waterways only.

Love the Hinckley Yachts. My wife used to work for a company in Canada that supplied Teak,Cherry and Oak parts for them and we have actually got a tour of the factory when they built a few famous people’s yachts

Small craft advisory is exactly what it sounds like, it’s advice not law. If I stayed home here in Hawaii every time a small craft advisory was issued, I’d never go out. That said, I do wear a PFD and nobody’s else out here does;)

When I was that age Dad made me put on a life jacket to go fishing 50 feet off shore on a small lake!

A few years ago someone invented 'life jackets' They were once made of cork and very bulky but now they are light and inflate automatically in an accident. They are useful if someone is thrown overboard or slips off a boat deck or a boat sinks. They keep you afloat even if you have been knocked out in an accident. Someone should import them into the US and sell them, might save some lives. This is a 'tongue in cheek' comment as we say in England.

Hello, I wish an UNCLEof mine was still alive for him to see these videos,he had a STARCRAFT 17 FT DEEP ‘V’ HULL with s good sized MERCURY ON THE STERN, HEfished all the time, in JAMAICA WI, II fished with him, When I went back on holidays, . There is only at most 1foot foot tide there.🇬🇧🇯🇲🇯🇲🇺🇸

My favorite yacht use to be anyone that had a helicopter on top but now that I've seen a Hinckley I have to go with one. It is a beautiful vessel.

Center consoles have so little to hold onto (without T-top). I'm all about the dual console!

Legend has it they are still out there trying to exit the inlet. 9 years later

Gotta get the Grady...Think about the boats made in NC. Grady White, Hatteras, Fountain...All of them are offshore legends. None of them seem to have any issues with Inlets...Take em to Oregon Inlet in the Outer Banks and lets see how they do!

I notice this a lot down in Florida, people either have no VHF antenna or they lay the antenna down/swept back!?!?! I was watching one of these where a boat was trying to send out an SOS and they couldn't understand them because the antenna wasn't up vertically!! There is a reason why there is a Coast Guard VHF frequency. All current VHF marine radios have DSC. Your DSC information is supposed to be entered into the Coast Guard database. If you get into distress you push the red button on the radio and it sends a signal to a satellite that relays the signal back to the local Coast Guard station with all of your information and your GPS coordinates so you can be rescued. Without your antenna up and in a vertical position, this cannot happen. In an emergency situation and your boat is sinking, you may not have time to use or find your cell phone, assuming it works where you are at. No PFD's majority of the time, readily available, especially the kids not wearing any.

It amazes me that people will sit in the bow looking at what they're going out into, then are surprised when they get soaked and/or slammed.

I like to go boating when the seas are calm and beautiful. Not these people. “Oh look! Small craft warnings! Choppy seas and tide coming in. Windy as hell. Let’s cram as many people as we can into my boat, including children. No need for life jackets. I know what I’m doing. We’re good!!! Some can sit up in the bow, others can stand on the back with nothing to hold on to and I’ll just charge out of the inlet at about 50 knots swamping others with my wake and face those waves head on. Just because my passengers are screaming, breaking limbs and falling overboard doesn’t mean they are having a bad time. Let’s go! Who’s with me?”

Put on the PFD when you step aboard, no matter how calm the conditions or what age or experience. I’ve seen people go overboard on calm sunny days and I’ve been on body searches where people would have lived if they’d had a PFD on instead of stashed in a locker

Hinkley build beautiful sea boats which great rough weather performance and a great deal of style. That's a lot of boat for Boca isn't it?

Well, he showed that small craft advisory what's up. I personally wouldn't have done it in my 23'. Have I? Yeah, but fortunately it wasn't on film lol Wasn't bad, but made my butthole pucker enough sliding down the backside of a 6-7 footer where I wouldn't do it again.
