Went super rigid for almost 3 months. Water was the only liquid I out in my body, and I literally ate breakfast lunch and dinner with green veggies, chicken, beef, eggs and the whites, and zero sugar protein shake. Then I bought a better protein powder, started incorporating good Greek yogurt, and treating myself to some bread once a week, more fruits. I’m still pretty strict but I’ve found that I not only feel so much better but I enjoy food a lot more. Prob 10x more.

It also depends on what you're used to. I've gone my whole life drinking water like 97% of the time and only recently started drinking some Almond Milk here and there so it's normal for me to just drink water while for other people giving up sugary drinks is an endeavor!

I’ve been a skinny fat guy, I’ve been a fat guy, now I’m in good shape with 8-10% body fat and lifting more than my body weight on most of my compound lifts. I have never tracked calories and I still don’t. I eat everything I like to eat and enjoy every meal that I have. I just lift with the goal of progressing every week, either increase your two count or the weights, but make some progress. And slowly but surely you get into good shape and you’re strong. The only times I’ve failed are when I diet and try to control what I eat. Unless you’re a professional bodybuilder, you don’t need too pay too much attention to what you eat. Eating healthy definitely helps but don’t stress about it too much. Just be patient, keep making progress and you’ll get to where you wanna go.

This. I like to tell people that they don't get unhealthy overnight, so why should you expect to be healthy overnight. Treating fitness like a journey is much more fulfilling and sustainable than treating it as an end goal.

I used to try to be super rigid when i still lived at my parents since they’d still buy snacks and sweets for my other siblings but like Greg said i’d always end up binge eating those foods! Demonizing foods is the worst and you really have to learn that one thing here and there will never ruin your progress, now that i live alone and can control 100% of whats in my kitchen it’s so much easier and i don’t even feel the need to fulfill any massive cravings because if i want chips or donuts i’ll buy it and not consider it a reward or anything but simply food

I’ve been on a rigid diet for over a year and I have 1 cheat meal per week.. 5 meals a day everything weighed out and the only thing that changes is the carbs depending if I’m cutting or bulking but I maintain less than 12% body during bulking at closer to 5-6% when cutting and I’ve never had a problem with binging.. just do what works for you, it all depends what your goals are and how far you’re willing to push yourself

I have a rigid diet because I have MCAS. I am allergic to most foods. Anything fermented canned preserved and even most vegetables are dangerous to someone with my condition. The limited items I do eat is steamed or boiled to reduce histamine. I never binge or eat bad foods because I would need to use my epipen. Life is not just about calories to stay slim but having severe allergies and trying to get food in without having a reaction like my throat closing up.
