@@idioticcharacter6392 I think the Yoda thing is more egregious precisely because the AI initially talked in Yodo speak though. With the pirate, you could argue that it means the AI just didn't know what pirate slang even was so it just talked normally because it didn't know what else to do. But with Yoda, it proved that it knew how to talk like Yoda, it just couldn't be bothered to do it for long even though that's what it was tasked to do.

The "without vowels" part, I asked ChatGPT to add the vowels back. Turns out that when we read words, the beginning of words are really important. Like, "dvlpmnt" (development) is much more recognizable than "mprs" (empires) or "llwd" (allowed).

At the moment, chatgpt is absolutely not qualified to teach kids something. It often gets stuff mixed up or completely wrong, especially the less known it is. Like it gets the content of a book right but mixes up the chapters or it tells you something about a character but the actual character is the exact opposit of that. All things that happened to people I know (not me fr, I don´t cheat). One time chatgpt wrote a text in french for a girl I know but you noticed after the 2nd sentence that it wasn´t hers because the programm uses a complete other language than a student would. So kids, if you want to cheat or learn, don´t do it with ai, you´ll get a bad result!

The AI checkers people are using now are pretty damn accurate, plus the protocol in my area is to run it through two. Over 60% is failing, so I think it’s pretty generous :P

@@MSte21 It’s not that he’s not smart, it’s that the US education system essentially teaches no geography or history, so he never learned this stuff. Not an exaggeration either, throughout all of school I only learned about the American revolution, American civil war, and WW1 and 2, and never once had a geography class

The funniest/saddest thing about this is that the test exam had questions that were closer to all wrong than having a right answer.

IMO, it sounds great that we're improving our standards and creating a bit more difficulty...But that's easy to say from here. What specifically makes it more difficult than it was in the past? typically, all you hear is how lax the expectations have gotten. Sounds interesting.

​@@snickle1980 based off of the descriptions of the units alone, I would guess that the difficulty comes from having to remember facts about a ton of nations and societies spanning the entire globe over the course of like 1400 years and you only spend a little bit of time on each topic because of time constraints. As a disclaimer I'm a high schooler (not even one of the ones taking this test), so I don't know what happens in college courses or this AP, but I would imagine that this is the main cause of difficulty on the test. The difficulty doesn't come from quality but quantity. It isn't that the topics or the teachers are forcing the students to think more deeply about both the subject and the world they live, but that they are piling greater amounts of work and content on the students and expecting them to know all of it by the end of the year. (I cannot stress this enough, but this is just the hypothesis of a high schooler who only knows about the test and class content from this video and occasionally seeing a classmate's work for the class) This is not the kind of difficulty that I would assume you are looking for in education, and if it is, I honestly think you should reconsider.

@@goggles8691 Exactly. As someone who was briefly in APUSH, the quantity for so little time is unreasonable. You gotta study like a medical student just to have a *chance.* It’s not educationally useful, it ain’t gonna get you any friends, and frankly it isn’t even intellectually stimulating. It’s just the normal rote memorization you’d find in normal high school classes cranked up to life-sacrificing extremes. I know I probably sound dramatic and whining, but that’s genuinely the way I view the class. Can’t imagine APWH is much better.

As of writing this, I just got home after taking my AP World History Exam. Learning about Darth Vader helped me to write my DBQ (definitely) so I want to thank you, Doug, for helping me cram for this test the night before in a fun and interesting way. Happy doing whatever it is that you do!

It's really a pleasure to see history mixed with Star Wars; my middle school history teacher absolutely loved Star Wars, and probably did make some connections&/analogies in our classes. It was a fun, chill time. This is just as fun & chill.

Since this is 3 days old with no edit telling us about your passing (or lack thereof) then are we safe to assume that you failed? Then again, the comment *has* been edited and you never said the edit would actually tell us anything so maybe that means that you passed.

...That Novel AI bit reminds me why I eventually canceled my sub. Its fun at first but after a while you really feel like you're fighting the AI. It will often ignore what you want to try and do its own thing and I spent more time trying to wrangle control of the AI with all of the behind the scenes stuff than like, actually writing and enjoying a story. It's really bizarre how you'll give it a very clear set up on exactly what you want and the AI goes "TILLY GOES TO SCHOOL" and doesn't care at all.

At 16:24 the AI was literally just messing with you. That's absolutely George Washington, and you can see how the outline doesn't match the Ben Franklin that shows up. That made me laugh so hard. 🤣

The entire "explain it as an anime battle" sequence sounds like doug is a 6 year old smashing his figurines together to make them kiss and fight.

It's not like it's easier to pass in Europe. Questions are probably harder and different. Personally, I've experienced we tend to have pretty open ended questions where we describe the answers ourselves without any multiple choice, removing the chance of getting one randomly correct, meaning your 60% with random guesses is with equal questions easier than 50% without random guesses

As a Muslim, I can tell you the oldest piece of literature is most certainly NOT the Qur'an. It's not even the oldest book between the three Abrahamic Religions, it's the youngest.

AP isnt a college exam its a high school exam. They can prove you have a good enough base knowledge to get you out of the intro "get you up to speed in the subject" college classes.
