BUILD A WARM LOG CABIN IN 24 HOURS

Hello everyone! I built a warm log cabin out of old and fallen trees. This is my first experience in building an A-frame shelter. I spent a total of 24 hours on construction. This design is quite primitive and easy to construct, while it retains heat well. I hope this video will be useful to you. Good luck!

NOTE that the wood was already mostly sawn. Using fabric roofing also speeds things up.

@2:20 I happened to notice that you did not char the ends of the support logs, before you installed them into the ground. Personally, I prefer to make them last much longer by charring them, but... that's me. I also use nails or cordage but always replace the connection with the Auger And Dowel method for making an almost perfect and long lasting connection.

  • @FartSquirel

oily woods do not need charring, they're rot resistant and endure a long time buried on the ground. I might be wrong, but the logs he is using look like white cedar to me, one of the many rot resistant species.

I really like these kinds of videos when they aren't using modern tools, its pretty cool regardless just more interested in primitive crafting and technology I guess. Either way great video just if you are stranded in the woods you probably don't have a chainsaw with you.

In addition, there is no way in hell that you, with your skills, did this in 24 hours. You have a lot to learn and a long way to go. Hopefully you won't lose a limb in the process.
