Bugatti Chiron Super Sport vs Rimac Nevera | evo DEADLY RIVALS
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
We’ve brought together the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport and Rimac Nevera on the stunning sun-kissed roads of Croatia, two hypercars that represent the present and future of automotive engineering and design. Steve Sutcliffe is on hand to find out whether our new era of electric hypercars can really thrill like the best combustion engine-powered that came before, and whether it’s a case of pointless speed over substance…

Yep, The Rimac outdoes the Chiron SS in almost all performance categories EXCEPT one. He did not specifically mention the category, but gave a hint. The Chiron SS only holds on to one performance category for 1st place. The Rimac takes all others against the Chiron SS. The Rimac handles better, stops faster, has better acceleration and lower track lap times anywhere there are curves. There is only one category where the Chiron SS is still faster than the Rimac.

I never thought I'd say that as a Petrolhead about an EV but it seems like the Rimac got soul in it thanks to the people who are making it. Steve is a diehard petrolhead and seeing him enjoy that much the Rimac tells how good the car is. Of course petrol cars will always be better than EVs in my opinion but there's hope for good EVs for the car lovers we are. The Porsche Taycan and this Rimac are setting up the path to a bright future of fun EVs. Awesome review! Lovely film! Thanks Evo.

I'm not sure how i feel about this comment. Let's set the scene first: I'm a petrol head since I can think. I'm also an environmentalist driving a budget EV since when i could afford a used one - 2018. I love my EV and the subtle whirry noise it make when you hit the pedal. I love how with rolled down windows you can hear the tires gripping the road. That's a cheap, small, slow EV with slow charging and in my subjective impression it's been the better daily driver than the petrol car i owned before it. It's not as emotional as my rattly old porsche 944, but then again, what current car is? I believe that EVs can be the better cars but people tent to want to buy bad cars so manufacturers have to build bad cars and it's truly hindering EVs potential. All while consumers still want to believe, that EVs are a boring, bad thing.

Automobile talks much better with sensations than with words. Sensations wise EV will put any ICE to shame because that's how superior in efficiency with their source of power EV are. Irony being it will probably be cheaper for us to have better performance(and sensations) vehicules for less money giving acess to supercar performance for lower price with EV than supercar performance with ICE. In the end we've got better cars and the bonus being it release less harmful chemicals in the air while using it. WIN WIN situation.

I mean if we go stats for stats, the W16 since it was made is "downtuned" to 1001hp (the 987bhp that they always stat is wrong cause Bugatti's 2 engine craftsmans Who build the engine dyno test it out and in the car to get the 1001hp and you know Bugatti's mindset nothing lower is accepted), anyway when I say "downtuned", the W16 makes 3000hp but loses 2000hp from heat and all the 10 radiators and all. But the good thing is that it has it's weight or that car would be undriveable.

I wanna see a Nevera accelerate against a modern F1 car
Truly top tier quality production.
It's like having an automatic watch or an apple watch...it could have whatever function you imagine, but it's not even comparable to the emotion that a mechanic watch give to you. I love mechanics and I'll always love the emotion of the sound and vibration of a petrol engine, with maybe a good manual gearbox

There's no emotion in the sound of an engine. Associating the noise from thousands of contained fossil fuel combustions a second with exciting performance is just an artifact the times you grew up in. In a decade most people will regard you like other niche fans rhapsodizing over the hiss of a steam engine or the smell and sweat of a racehorse.

I've made the same comparison... There's no digital replacement for analogue craftsmanship. There's always this preconceived notion that newer technology is better but that's not always the case. For example, A Rolex has style and durability, it has character where as an Apple watch is soul less and boring. Sure the apple watch might have more features but you only really need it to tell you the time.
Great review! I hope that rattling on the audio of the Rimac interior wasn't actual rattles from the car spoiling what would otherwise be a fantastic-quality cockpit. Not that I can afford either one, but if I could I would expect brick-level of solidity for interior construction.

I think it's all road debris like pebbles and such hitting the wheel wells or bottom. I think that's what he was mentioning when they removed sound dampening.

Those noises were road debris hitting the underside of the car.
A V16 hybrid lighter than the Chiron, that would make the Nevera seem like a school project. The ICE could be made much smaller and lighter, but hybrid stuff adds a lot of weight. In England a few light and high-revving V12 are being built now. So it's not impossible to make a modern car sound pretty and have light-ish engine.

Koenigsegg has a really light 600 hp 3-cyl that appears to sound well. a V6 based on two such blocks, with FreeValve, for 1200 hp, wouldn't be too bad a start for a "light" hybrid hypercar. Add a few hundred kW on the crank, and same on front axle all-electric, and it'll go alright. Rimac knows how to make a peppy small battery. They did it for Koenigsegg Regara and perhaps even Gemera.

the next gen Rimac will beat everything you will see on a street car in your lifetime. No ICS car will even get close to its performance.

@@joebeus6886 Wait, they're doing both a Bolide AND an N/A? Modern turbos don't rub me the wrong way at all, especially on hybrids. The Cosworth V12 projects of Aston and Gordon Murray sure sound sweet. NA/is not necessarily THE way to make a car be easily homologated or light, of course. Bigger tank or shorter range, bigger block to get the power you want.
😳Wow! I've Never seen a Nevera😁 power drift around a turn like that before....simply astounding to watch! I just wished they'd show more scenes like that.....💯😎🔥👍
Both are the the kings of their respective fields: Top speed for the Chiron and acceleration for the Nevera
love knowing that andy was just sitting silently in the chiron through steve's beautiful monologuing.
I've taken more than 20 screenshots to use it as a Wallpepar. Thanks for recording in 4K.
