Richard Hammond drives a Rimac for the first time since his life-threatening crash

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Watch Richard Hammond's Workshop in the UK: bit.ly/Hammond-H1-YT
It has been over 6 years since Richard Hammond had a massive crash in the Rimac Concept One hypercar. He managed to escape with just a busted leg, but the car went up in flames soon after the crash so it could have been much more serious. Rimac have decided to give Richard a second chance, throwing him the keys to the brand new Rimac Nevera - the successor to the Concept One. Fingers and toes crossed for this test dive going smoothly...

I like how simply Richard promotes Rimac, like a give back. And thanks to Rimac for giving him a chance. But in my opinion Rimac is lucky that Richard drove their car twice. I could say that that crash was a big publicity for Rimac, I mean Richard admitting that the door opened just fine after three flips is testimony of great engineering, car crashes are inevitable, safety level during those crashes is what matters most. Thanks for both Rimac and Richard for this video

  • @jerkopatrik

My exact thoughts, I always thought that crash had a positive impact on Rimac’s reputation. The fact that Hammond survived THAT crash in their car was a true testimony to the company’s engineering feats, where it would show not just on paper and in marketing material but also in a very real situation. And now here they are, mass producing an 1800 horsepower hypercar.

Hearing Hammond say "the door opened" has the same weight in that sentence as when Clarkson said "the chicken was still warm". They hold their own respective cars in the highest regards because of the way each of their vehicles gave them the ability to have a better outlook in their situations than what was originally given and i think thats just absolutely amazing in it of itself

Doesn't matter what it was built from. It did its job and protected the occupants. Cars are replaceable, people aren't. So great that Rimac allowed Hammond back behind the wheel again. What an amazing car! And kudos to Richard Hammond for driving it again too. I've just read his book about the first major crash he had in the jet dragster and it brought me to tears. He's one brave man.

last time i saw rimac on an auto event, they had some black duct tape on the front end and it had a lot of tiny scratches on the side and that in itself made the car so much cooler to look at. Like, this car was driven unlike a lot of concepts and sport cars that looked insanely clean and detailed, the Rimac looked as if it was driven there and It was amazing XD

You didn't ruin the company by crashing, you gave them the light to shine as they are, because the first thing everyone asks a car company when a Car crash happens is "Was the car build safe" And for sure it was build safe and thus gave them a spotlight to shine as a Name. For Hand made Performance,High Quality Croatia style. As a Croatian I am proud of having such a Giant car Company that shows the spirit of a Croatian and its innovation.
