would be much better to let someone else give the commands, though. Doesn't make sense that one of the drivers gives the command to accelerate because humans obviously have a reaction time (and the walkie-talkie might have a delay) and the person who gives the command doesn't have to listen to the command.

and it's also quicker on the quarter mile. 9.6s is not a good time for both cars. only explanation would be running the Tesla at low battery percentage and cold battery. that would be the equivalent of running the Bugatti on regular gas and race it without warming up the engine

This is the best carwow episode ever. The speed those cars go through the finish line is insane. They are just a blur. Fantastic content.

That Bugatti pulling the way it does above 120 is absolutely nuts. That plaid, having had the privilege to launch and drive one is absolutely alarming. I owned an M3P and the plaid felt like its launch, but it didn't fade until absolutely irresponsible speeds. Allegedly. I might be alone in this opinion but I think that Chiron sounds really good.

Get a Plaid mate, nothing stock under a million (single Sapphire hasn't been delivered) can beat it and you simply can't say that its boring: 6:37 Also its a bloody good family and daily car (safest car in the world by EuroNcap)... Also also, what was the soc here for the Tesla, I get that the surface is bad but it almost always does 1/4 mile at 9.3s @ over 80%? What is more, no best 2/3... Was this the only take where Plaid lost the 1/4 mile? 😂

Definitely important to note that this is a half mile not a quarter mile. A race tailored for the Bugatti to be competitive

I just find it amazing that a little over a decade ago, manufacturers were scrambling to get to the magical 200 mph and then we have mat here, casually doing 200 mph @8:30 in a drag race, on a walkie talkie, in a production car. Mental!

Yes, it is true but: - using 100 L/100km - no-one buying that car is going to do track days or something, they even won't go to Germany to really treat them (even there you have other cars...) - on 99.99999% the situations, the instant kick (electric) is more important - one costs 3.900.000 pounds less and has less maintenance. You're paying the exclusivity!

If you watch other car wow videos you will see all cars fade, the only difference is that Tesla tells you. That is why it got a reputation of poor brakes. See the Porsche one it faded much quicker than the standard model 3. Of course if you want track driving you need track brakes on all cars, and you would be insane not to.

Carbon ceramics brake slower than steel, but their advantage is that they don’t overheat with continued usage. In the first brake test, the ceramics were too cold to work effectively. They’re amazing track tyres, (or stopping from 273mph 😅), but are worse than steel for a single brake test. They’re amazing on track though.

The best advice that i learned from Manny Koshbin is don't buy a Super or Hyper car until you have 10 times the price of it in your Bank account, when you purchase a Super car you add a car to your garage but u add also maintenance and unexpected damages that can happen in future

12:10 The hilarious part is that the Model S Plaid doesn't actually fade after 100, it's just that the Chiron SS is so mind-blowingly fast, it makes the Plaid look like it's fading. You all remember the Carwow Model X Plaid vs 911 Turbo rolling races? The Tesla pulled the entire way, even well over 100 MPH. It's all relative.

have not watched the video yet, BUT… one of the most important parts of the track pack is the tire and wheel package that is not on the car you’re racing. The track pack tires and wheels are 20 inch super lightweight very low rotational mass to get moving with sticky tires your car has all season tires on a 21 inch wheel,the trackpack has 20 inch wheels. after looking up the numbers, your car’s tires have a diameter of .77 inches larger than the track pack so now your car has heavier tires and wheels with longer gearing to have to pour because of the taller tires. I have not watch the video so I don’t know who wins but this could definitely be a factor in today’s outcome for the drag racing. Less rotational mass ,better gearing ,and stickier tires can definitely change the outcome. Your car basically just has better brakes and the top speed limiter changed till like 200. If these races are super close, it would be nice for you to redo it with the actual full track pack to see if it makes the difference, nobody probably read this due to the length but hopefully you guys did Matt. Love the show. If it’s close, I have a feeling you will redo it with a full track pack if you can get a hold of one. Thanks for all the great videos.!!!!!!

It was one of the most impressive drag races I have ever seen! Seeing the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport in action against the Tesla Model S Plaid with Track Pack was a real treat. Both cars demonstrate incredible engineering and speed, but the contrast between the classic internal combustion engine and the advanced electric motor makes this race especially exciting. The video was shot professionally, allowing viewers to feel the intensity of the competition. Bravo to the team that created this content!

Imagine how good the plaid is, them think how good it will be when they have had another 70 years to refine it like they did with the ice engine.

@@aussie2uGAagree and disagree, yes Tesla is the brand beholden to the modern electric car, but I don’t give them much credit for “jumps or leaps” more like they just picked up a old torch. The first vehicular top speed record in 1898 by the Jeantaud Duc, electric cars were large before gasoline, and had they continued to be pursued linearly instead of the major break, we would have had the Tesla Plaid decades ago.

The fact the Plaid is even close is a complete embarrassment to BG...it is a family sedan. If you want niche car comparisons, why not against a Rimac, or better yet, a nitro funny car?

The Bugatti looks like it gets to 100 and says “if we’re gonna do this we’re gonna do this properly” and speeds up even faster 😂

The super sport is set up for top speed so longer ratios. The acceleration actually isn't its strongest point and yet it manages incredible numbers.

I remember a few years ago trying to look up these insane races, and it was never an actualy drag race or their were no videos at all, now because of Carwow you can look up anything and they have it, they have a monopoly on drag races videos on KZread, which is great because no one Comes close to the production and quality efforts that carwow has

This drag race was like watching a clash of titans! 😲 The Bugatti Chiron with its unparalleled top-end speed against the Model S Plaid, the electric underdog that packs a punch at a fraction of the cost. It's like witnessing an MMA champ fighting a scrappy street brawler and both holding their own! 🔥 And let's not forget, the Tesla winning the brake test is insane.

.Chiron's carbon cerimic brakes weren't at peak temp to get its prime stopping performance, if there would have been a third brake test then you probably would have had the Chiron stopping shorter..notice how close it got on its 2nd brake test

Bugatti lost. The fact that a $3 million hypercar HAD to be tested against a family sedan 5 seater electric car that weighs a ton more than its "rival" in this video, Tesla won! I mean we ALL know that since the bugatti is much lighter and has a higher top speed, obviously eventually the Bugatti takes that win but if you have to compare, Tesla won just on the fact that you're saying Tesla V. @@daltonsikhosana8275Still, the risk is incredibly smaller. And 97% of people aren’t getting approved for a $4M car. Nor will they have the liquid cash to buy it outright. The plaid is much more obtainable especially once used and given a few more years. Bugatti is still king though.
