NEW 2025 Tesla Model 3 PERFORMANCE Review: Supercar Slayer | 4K

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Rory goes for a drive in the new Tesla Model 3 Performance, which some people have been referring to as the Model 3 Plaid. It has more power, more torque, more performance, a new motor, new seats, and has been comprehensively overhauled to help it rival everything in its class… and even a few unlikely suspects.

But for almost double the price of a used taycan vs brand new Tesla it’s not comparable price/value wise the Tesla is faster, lighter and better network over the air updates, supercharging network plenty of things make the Tesla the winner by far other then looks.

For sure. I bought my M3P a little over 1 year ago having never driven one. I was shopping for a Camaro SS but the dealerships were charging approximately $5,000.00 over MSRP, plus mandatory dealer addons and I just refuse to do that. Same story with the Charger or Challenger. I just figured YOLO and took a chance on the M3P, and I don't regret it. Being able to beat nearly anything on the road (in a midsize sedan no less) is fun, and the car is comfortable. The only time I go to a gas station now is to get gas for my lawnmower. I love the sound of a rumbling V8 and if I could afford it, I'd have one (or more) of those as well.

I can't remember which, but there is at least one EV out there that makes an artificial kind of spaceship zooming sound when you accelerate quickly, and I remember a reviewer saying it was so pointless yet still brought him so much joy to get that audio feedback while driving. While faint, I agree that the electric whine I hear when I accelerate my (non performance) M3 does add to the enjoyment of speeding up. May be fun for Tesla to add that as an internal sound-effect at some point.

I have a plaid but its the same with the 3 performance, and the problem with track mode is that you can't activate it while the car is running, you have to go to park. And this makes it totally useless, except on track... I cant count how many times I was driving and then there is a nice twisty road, I d like to use track mode but there is nowhere to park or cars behind me ...

Ok, I will repeat what I heard from Jason Cammisa: Tesla's have always been really good for high frequency (Road texture and quick changes) feel, where it falls apart a bit is the understeer limit where it is hard to know whether you have hit it or not. BUT... he needs to do more testing as he was on a cliff face so he wasn't exactly going to fully test it. So it is good but not the best. But if you are really interested we need to wait until more testing is done!

Even a plaid running 0 to 60 in 2 seconds is not considered a supercar killer. Best value performance car should go to m3p. 2.9 second car for 45k is simply amazing

I am a bit taken back by this, but also, lots of stuff doesnt add up: Faster than previous model ? they claim 460hk LG 79kWh for EU :( 510hk for the US version because of panasonic 82kWh for the new performance -the old one is registered as 514hk (perhaps that is just the engines combined and not the real output performance of the car) Longer range they claim ? WLTP was 567km for the 2022 3P... the new one is 528km WLTP... is it Tesla that is chasing the dragon or is it me ??? It sucks that we in the EU get the Performance version on a "limp mode" because of the LG battery with lower peakpower output (-50hk) - and even shorther range (-3kWh) so is it because of the massive rear tires that the WLTP has gone down the drain compared to the previous performance model or what, or is it a combo of the 79kWh battery and bigger wheels width ? The seats are a welcome update, the overall exterior design is very tastefull! Missing stalks is a turn off, but probably a habit (i have test-driven the Highland 3LR for 2 hours) So the perfect build for me would have been: 82kWh Panasonic for ALL performance A HUD display of some kind (when it is a speed demon!) wishfull thinking... stalks for gear and turn signals currently owning a ModelS 85D 2015 and Model3 LR Boost 2021.. was hoping to replace the old Model S.. but now it is not a clear choice... When will someone do a range-test and more interestingly a 100-200km/h test ? we dont care if it is 3.4 sek 0-100 or 3.1, but highway/freeway speeds are what needs extra umph from the old model3...

Enjoyable review. Recently picked up the “old” M3P and love it. Whilst I like a lot of the new updates, mine was 18 months old and pretty much half the price from new with the crazy depreciation so no way would I buy one of these from new. Price difference for the UK is also a kick in the teeth compared to US.

Just ordered mine but noticed due to battery manufacture differences between USA version and U.K./Europe it loses 50ch/bhp. U.K. Europe version is sold with same performance specs 0-60 but 460ch/bhp. A loss of 50 horses which on the pub bragging rights could be a game changer for some. For reference my existing 2022 Model 3 Performance has 450ch/bhp.
