    I just changed the jets on a my grandson's girlfriend's xv250. It also had a K&N air filter on it. I used a 20 idle jet and a 117.5 main and it works great. I'm at a low altitude in Texas. What's the altitude where you are?

    Hey mate, I have pods and pipes on my xv250, and its running super lean right now especially at higher power band. From what I understand, adjusting the fuel air ratio would be the first step, then possibly move onto rejet? Also did you consider adjusting the needle height at all?

    hi,... just watched your video, thanks for doing that!... my 2000 virago 250 mixture adjust screw was adjusted all the way in (lean)... with no change in idle or running status, any ideas why this is happening? thanks,... the bike seems to be running fine,... just smells like its really running rich...

  • @iRidetas

    I’m a bit stumped here, I changed the main to 115 and the pilot to 20 and raised the needle with two washers, without the baffles I get after firing when releasing the throttle when I rev the bike and also if I turn the air fuel screw in it doesn’t really stumble...if I put the baffles back in it it seems to get rid of the backfiring but I have to turn the air fuel screw out almost 3 turns. I can’t tell if it’s running rich or lean. Ideally I’d like to run it without the baffles but would that mean going up in the pilot to a 22.5 and the main to 120? just the main? Just the pilot? At 17.5 I could get it to stumble turning in but sometimes the throttle response would bog down if I turn it :/ I believe my altitude in Toronto here is 76 meters above sea level too if that helps...

  • @iRidetas

    @iRidetas

    If it doesnt stumble pilot is prob to rich. 3 turns out is not excessive imo. Check your plugs it will tell you if its rich or lean.

    I've done all the same mods but my needle has been moved down 1 notch in the carb, I didn't get that stumbling when you were tuning at idle, but now from 3/4 to full throttle it absolutely dies, it's fastest at 3/4 throttle. Guess is the main jet is too rich?

  • @iRidetas

    @iRidetas

    5 жыл бұрын

    I'd start be winding it in all the way set it to 1 3/4 turns out which is stock and work from there. If it's dying at 3/4 It's prob lean. To rich would be gassing you with fumes etc. Very difficult to diagnose other bikes issue with tuning without been there. Pull the plugs, clean them the ride it and see what your bike is doing mate!

    Dear Iridetas, First of all congratulations on your videos, on your work and on the fact that you shared with the world. I was wondering if you could help me with something on my 93 Virago. How did you achieve that desynchronized engine sound (more like an Harley)? My Virago does not make that kind of sound, and I would really like to have my engine sound like that...
