Nice work, I have a 1988 C 30, #5267, in Gibsons, BC. Upgraded icebox to 12V/110 Ac refrigeration, added a Dorm fridge under the steps. It has a propane oven stove combo. I added mirrored plastic sliders, on the cabinets, and a clear acrylic backsplash above the teak behind the sink.

Hey Franklin! We're onboard hull #1543, stoked to hear that you're also out on a C30! Good call on the acrylic backsplash, I bet that keeps the saloon cushions much cleaner! We are planning on putting a 12v condenser unit in the icebox eventually, it's part of the master build plans but first we need some decent solar :) Hope to catch you out there one day!

You're supposed to have that vertical loop to prevent a following seas wave from flooding your engine. You might want to look up and add an anti-siphon valve too. Protect your engine, you've only for one! Great video, awesome gallery Reno! I'm a new sub.

Thanks mate! There is a vertical loop in the exhaust in the port lazarette when the exhaust hose comes up to the level of the deck/hull joint before heading aft and exiting out the transom. The anti siphon valve is also installed coming off the elbow riser. Stoked you found us, thank you for subscribing!

Very cool. I cry now over my stock Catalina 30. The stainless countertops and cool backsplash are much envied on my end. I did make a gimballing electric cooktop and electric countertop oven. Spent $1300 for 560AH or lLifePO4 that fits in the starboard battery box. So I went all electric cooking and with a little solar I don't really have to worry about it too much! No propane and pretty much endless cooking.

We gained storage! Before the exhaust hose and second sink took up heaps of unused space! Removing those opened up an entire cupboard space - we opted to put recycling and garbage bins in there. Big improvement 👍🏽

We use this stove underway! A gimbaled propane marine stove is about half the cost of our entire boat! One like that is only needed if you’re doing long passages, like crossing the Pacific. Our boat is a coastal cruiser, not a blue water vessel so there’s no need for such a stove! The Inside Passage is very protected, the seas are calm and we anchor every night!

@@AllisonandJamesSailing actually I went with a Chinese diesel forced air unit mounted in the port locker. Still have some tidying up to do but we used it last weekend and it works amazing!!! Almost too warm. The lowest setting and we still had to crack the hatch. Much cheaper option to the traditional wall mounts.
