The WWF/E does ALL of its booking based on the town they're in. They book differently for MSG than they do for elsewhere. They put British Bulldog on top when they went to Britain. They put LT on top for WM in that region. They had Shawn Michaels on top in San Antonio, Texas. Come on Bruce. It would be more appropriate to say that Montreal is the ONLY CITY that WWF/E tried NOT to book differently.

I'm pretty sure that Mountie beat Hogan in Montreal. Likewise Dino Bravo beat Ultimate Warrior in Montreal. It is not out of the ordinary for a top guy locally in Montreal to expect to win a match that he would lose anywhere else.

Yes this is true. Hogan wanted to put Rougeau over cause of respect for the family. It was in 1997 for WCW though not when he was The Mountie.

So true. The whole point is to make fans happy. The WWF centered its entire business around the "American hero baby face"... which doesn't work when you're outside America. In Canada, fans want to see Canadian baby faces get the win. :)

Oh bullshit. Dino Bravo was HUGE draw in the Montreal territory (prior to coming to WWF) & there was no way Hogan was facing him there.

@@ThorMaximus It seems like all Hogan ever does is job in Canada. He jobbed to the Warrior. He jobbed to Jacques Rougeau. He jobbed to the Rock TWICE. I can't think of any "notable" victory Hogan had in Canada.

I hate to agree with Vince Russo on something, but when you're right you're right he pointed out Carl Ouellet could outperform two-thirds of the guys on the WWE roster today in the ring and back in the attitude Era he was lucky to make it on the TV show.

Ah, wasn't a Pierre fan. But I never liked Diesel as champion. Never even really understood it. He wasn't ever that over to me. And I always thought Razor Ramon should have gotten it. He had more of a marketability than Nash.

Diesel and Shawn were correct. Just ahead of it's time. The home town guy winning was yesterday's tradition and goes back to territory philosophy. I don't fault Pierre but wrestling got a lot better when stupid sh like were removed from the product.
