    Randy Savage should have been the top star in the WWF 1993-1994 with the upper card built around him. As a kid at the time we all loved him just as much as Hulk. His run in WCW shows he still had gas in the tank and that he could make stars like DDP. He deserved to be the “Guy” out side of Hogans shadow in a premonition for once in his life.

    I could tell with wrestlemania 9 that Randy didn't think too highly of Jim Ross. If you go back and watch it. Listen everytime Ross chimes into commentary. Savage would go silent for a minute or 2 before speaking again!

    The story that I heard was that Jim was brought in from Wcw to be a big part of talent relations and executive decision making as well as announcer. The other wrestlers knew that Randy was paranoid and easy to rile up. They convinced him that Jim Ross asking him to do promos was a rib of some kind and Randy naturally overreacted.

    Legit question...when Randy got pissed for real in these situations would he still be using his Macho Man voice? Would he use that voice at all times? Did that voice really become his voice or did he use a normal voice and cadence with legitimate/intimate conversations? Im genuinely curious about his voice

    That’s your takeaway? An unchecked ego? Who has allowed themselves to be humiliated on TV more than JR? Maybe Vince, but that’s it. JR takes the credit and the blame for the things he does. Vince always has a spin, ie Montreal, Austin walking out, “No, Bret, that’s what you THOUGHT you heard…”

  • @jldraw
    @jldraw4 жыл бұрын

    This is a hard topic to evaluate. Granted this isn't the first time I've heard rumor and innuendo regarding negativity surrounding Jim Ross, although in what seems to be the norm for the wrestling industry these reports are long on making claims and short on taking accountability for making them. As noted there have been a few wrestlers who have come forward over the years and detailed negative interactions with Ross but that is par for the course in an industry with countless amounts of personalities who have interacted with Ross over his career which now spans I believe five decades. In the end though the conclusion I've come to is after all this time does it really matter? Ross has already written his legacy in his profession of choice and has been a big part of shaping the interpretation and trajectory of that profession as well both as an on-screen talent and behind the scenes. I personally don't care if he also took home awards for "Most Popular Dude At The Water Cooler". It's ridiculous. I have a lot of respect for Bruce Prichard as well but I think this is a conversation that is about twenty years or more too late.
