Ruprecht The Monkey Boy My opinion has nothing to do with it being wrestling. You know nothing more than I do about any evidence and have already convicted him. For the most part I agree that most people dont make this shit up but there are cases where they do. I remember a case involving a day care that was accused by multiple kids then later found out the police had gotten the kids to say things a certain way thru the way they were questioned. Anyway I dont know if he was guilty or not. Bottom line everyone deserves the right to a defense. Innocent till proven guilty. Trial thru the media is a dangerous slope in an already broken justice system. Good day sir

Want to recognize Conrad for who I think did a great job navigating the listeners and Pritchard through a sensitive subject. Conrad didnt duck or have a " whatever," non- schalant type attitude about it. He informed the listeners of FACTS surrounding the case in an organized and almost chronogical order. They didnt debate the veracity or thruthfulness of the allegations, but what came from the allegations and what effect it had on the day to day business of the WWF /E. Example: Like it or not, believe them or not, the ring boy did file a lawsuit, a settlement was reached.... these are facts that are undisputed. Well done Conrad.

I have a friend who swears that pro wrestling is like a big gay closeted dudes club. He thinks that "smartening someone up" or "breaking them in" is code for letting them in on the homosexual shenanigans that go on behind the scenes in wrestling. I don't agree with my pals theory, but anyone would have to be a fool not to understand that homosexuality and wrestling have gone hand in hand since the start. Lots of guys with great bodies scantily clad and all oiled up and obsessed with their physical appearance/masculinity would seem kind of sus to folks who are inclined to have negative feelings towards gay folks. That's my take on my buddy's suspicions. He had a whole list of things he claimed were "proof" but I'm not gonna bother to list all that nonsense here. Bottom line is that I think he's incorrect about it being a big secret suckers club, although I'm fairly certain that there's at least SOMETHING going on here and there. But it's none of my business either way. As long as nobody is getting hurt, and nobody is diddling children (which I think never happened) I say who's business is it? If someone really did or is currently offering pushes for sex favors, that's abhorrent and needs to be addressed, but that's about the only "scandal" I could see being even remotely true.

For all the shitting on Bruce here, some of you need to realize this stuff isn’t just the usual shit to gossip and shoot the breeze about, like old rasslers telling some road stories. There’s potentially liability issues here should they start throwing out some flippant accusations or jokes about ring boys being allegedly sexually assaulted. I think Conrad and Bruce are trying to cover this like adults, and not some smart marks on wrestlingforum.com. Anyway, they do go over the facts as known and unfortunately (or not) there wasn’t a lot of hard facts re:the abuse claims. There were a lot of innuendo and accusations. And the Cole story as laid out here *does* come off as questionable and a bit strange. As indicated, the lawsuit wasn’t about the abuse, it was about a settlement being breached because Cole didn’t get a tryout as an announcer. Was the original accusation a shakedown? Maybe, maybe not. Cole’a settlement mandated he got his same ring boy job back. Did WWF settle to keep a scandal out of the media regardless of its veracity? Perhaps. Perhaps not. I’d imagine if true, Patterson wasn’t doing the harassing publicly and Bruce may have had some plausible deniability. Do I think the accusations are true? I don’t know. Honestly there is no way I *could* know as I wasn’t there. All we have is an accusation and a certain notion about Patterson and WWF being sleazy.
