I can't tell you how many times I watched this when I discovered it a few years ago. It really hits hard. Even if you don't react to it, you should watch 14-year-old Benicio Bryant's America's got Talent 2019 audition with his stunning cover of this amazing song. I'm pretty sure you will be blown away.

Too bad to see the low number of views, comments and likes on this reaction, Saeed. I don't know TOO much about Brandi, but I have watched a documentary and she seems to be an absolutely amazing woman. What I DO know, however, is that this particular song is high up there on my favorites list. It's a beautiful piece of art tbh. Love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥

She won a Grammy for this song. I'm glad someone suggested this to you. She is an amazing human. She has a wife, Catherine, and 2 daughters, Evangeline and Elijah. She is one of the best singer-songwriters that not a lot of people have heard of. She has collaborated with many artists, is a producer, and has won, I believe, 8 or 9 Grammy awards. I would highly recommend any song from her Austin City Limits 2022 concert. In particular, her cover of Joni Mitchell's song Woodstock. Thanks again for a wonderful, heartfelt reaction!

Well deserved.

I love studio versions usually, but she is the rare artist who's ALWAYS even better live. Check out the live version of this song from the Grammy's, and the performance of Raise Hell from The Caverns in Tennessee. Crazy crazy good!

I remember the first time I heard Let It Be by the Beatles. I was 10 and I’d never heard a song that rocked like that with such a moving lyric. I don’t think any other song moved me like that until I heard The Joke.

thanks for posting this, saeed. she's terrific and her music always speaks to the marginalized folks in society. you need to treat yourself to some live music by her and her band. she can be a full on rocker if she wants- try a live version of "raise hell" or "the story".
