This video needs to go viral. Yes, cosmetic surgery is expensive, and it’s so tempting to get one of these “deals”. However, wait until you get more money and go to a board certified cosmetic surgeon.

A surgeon has 6-8 years of post-doctoral residency and fellowship. Do not go to Groupon. Be sure the “doctor “ is certified in plastic surgery. You can look that up on any state professional license government website.

I'm fortunate that the first time I asked about liposuction, the doctor was pretty nasty with his response. As it turned out, he wasn't a plastic surgeon but had gone to one of those weekend training sessions. It really could have ended in a disaster if his response was nice or more receptive.

My Botox nurse and board certified dermatologist in Las Vegas warned me years ago to never go the Groupon route, ever. 😂🤣 Great advise! 👍🏻

It's not the time to save money when you're considering plastic surgery. Find the best or don't do it. I had a second nose job by a board certified plastic surgeon and it was a waste of time.

I had tumescent liposuction done on my stomach by the place that invented it. It wasn't cheap & I was left with uneven ripples. I had it done a 2nd time a month or 2 or 3 later to try to fix my 1st surgery but no improvement & I didn't even go to my follow up appt. That was about 6 or 7 years ago. I will need to see if I can get it fixed one of these days by another surgeon. I read all reviews, watched patient videos, went to a surgeon, etc & still had a bad outcome. I am normal weight, 5' 6" tall, 128 lbs, never have been pregnant, just had a minor tummy that didn't even show with my clothes on. I wish I had just left it alone!

I'm so sorry you had to go through that, hopefully you'll be able to resolve it, personally I'm petrified of surgeries,fillers etc, I've only been under the knife for health reasons and it's definitely not fun.

You don't ask a dentist to replace your car engine. You don't go to a dermatologist or any other person to conduct plastic surgery on your body - it should be a board certified plastic surgeon only. The logic seems so clear and yet.. these awful things happen.

@@CreamIceMsI saw a Groupon for a gynecologist in my area offering tummy tucks and breast augmentations. I couldn’t believe it. They were charging $8k for a standard tummy tuck, I paid $14k with my board-certified plastic surgeon (there was also some liposuction included in that price though) if it’s too cheap you have to beware.

I know a person who had threads placed in her face by her dentist. I was stunned!

Well, that honestly doesn't seem too bad. Dentist have extensive knowledge regarding the face & mouth structure. I would trust a dentist with a minimal invasive procedure like threads. I would NOT entertain surgery.

@@ayajade6683yes I’ve seen that as well, and their own Botox and PDO threads. It seems insane to me that they would take that amount of risk on their faces.

Phenomenal video! I thankfully survived a surgery similar to this and found my current and amazing board certified plastic surgeon with accreditation and hospital privileges to correct what happened. My surgeries since, with the right doctor, have been seamless.

Thank you for educating the public. Just learning about the terms "board certified" & "cosmetic surgeon" from this channel has been worthwhile.

Its sad, but this is on your country. I live in Belgium, here even a nurse isn't allowed to do very minor stuff like botox. Even those very small cosmethic procedures have to be done by a licenced doctor. It sounds absolutely crazy to me that unlicenced people can perform actual surgeries on people. How does that make any logic?

Unlicensed people arent supposed to and shouldnt be able to do these things. Arizoma has some weird loophole (and no one knows why its allowed) and that almost no other states dare have. And btw, its on people seeking the services to realize, if they are seeking a 3 CT diamond and find one for 500 bucks, its fake. Like any other service or tangible good. Everyone knows if it’s expensive and cost a lot, and you find it for dirt cheap, it’s either in an estate sale or is on the person who is dumb enough to pay for it.

I remember this from long ago, that you can't trust the titles in the U.S because they had no protections back then on the words "doctor" or "Therapist" , I think they got a bit better since then but obviously it's stil the wild west out there with people taking neuropathy just so they can fake their way to being a cosmetic surgeon and make tons of money. Of course botox does get done illegally here too but you know when it is, that person will not be in a real clinic.

This happens in Australia too. Nurses are injecting Botox and filler..it’s horrific. I only go to qualified dermatologists for my injectables..you pay more, but I would never go to a clinic in a mall for my medical procedures..too many risks.

In my country (Slovakia) only doctors are allowed to do anything that involves cutting or injecting. And our prices are bargains for Americans. Breast augmentation by a great experienced doctor costs around 3500 Euro including implants for example.

Breast augmentation can be done here for the same cost. And to travel to random countries you’d have to spend additional money on the expensive, exhaustive travel to and from, and where do you go for post-op checkups? So really for Americans to travel to another country when the US has the best of everything it’s pretty silly. Plenty of other countries have great services and things but geographically it’s just vastly less valuable to go out of your way for foreigners to slice you open.

My mother-in-law lives in Switzerland & she had full body lipo without being put under, it was all local anesthesia. Apparently it’s the norm to do lipo with a local over there.

Az resident here: You might find this hard to believe, but since NPs and PAs can practice without being under a DO or MD here, it's really hard to find a great Dr. I actually went to Utah for medical care until my Dr (a DO) retired. We have a lot of options, but they're not all better options.

It can happen even with the best plastic surgeons. Liposuction is still a bit iffy in terms of outcome. Even Khloe Kardashian has some cobblestoning on her stomach, I think that’s why the family went out of their way to have that unfiltered bikini shot of her deleted, it was very obvious in that pic. The only thing you can do is more lipo around the rippled area or injection of filler.

I had a board certified general surgeon do my liposuction awake in office. And my results were phenomenal. He’s not board certified in plastic surgery but I knew he knew what he was doing… I can’t imagine finding a random add on Groupon for cheap lipo and being like “yaaaa book it” to me that’s kinda on the patient for being dumb.

There's a 60 minutes Australia episode about these loopholes theee, and the horrors that have happened.

I would never use a Groupon for Botox, fillers, lipo, anything cosmetic. You do get what you pay for many times. Get a doctor that specializes in the procedure, has done a lot of the procedures and has great reviews! I only have a facial plastic surgeon do my Botox, fillers etc. For touch ups a well trained nurse who works with the doctor. My physician is an MD and trained naturopathic doctor and would NEVER think what that ND is okay! Even MD’s general physicians are getting greedy by adding cosmetic treatments with no experience other that a weekend course 😬

A plastics procedure offerred cheap is usually bc the person offerring the service at a discount, isnt good enough, talented enough to build a practice without targeting certain people. If their surgical results are good, word gets around and theyre busy. These other type of “providers” offerring services are looking for people with little money, not too educated and eager to look good for cheap. I get people coming in who are in dire straights from BBL and gastric bypass in Mexico. Infection, bleeding, sepsis. Its not worth risking your life and long term health just so people will look at you more.

I know someone that chases Groupon injectables. And it shows!🥴

It’s insane that any one can preform surgery!!! I had no idea…. I knew to look for board certified plastic/cosmetic surgeon but I didn’t no it was legal for people to just so surgery that’s just crazy! I’m Canadian so now I’m going to look into are laws.

I bought botox off groupon..luckily she was a paediatric dermatologist.

I had lipo awake (c. 1992). It was TORTURE. (General surgeon in his own office clinic.)

One of the most popular BBL surgeon on IG is actually a dentist! 😬 Scary!

I dont even want to go to a GP, if the doctor, let alone someone who isn't even a doctor!🤦🏼‍♀️ A well known GP once gave me botox and she over injected, now my eyebrows looks heavy and it's 10 years later. Actually went for sweat in my hairline and she convinced me to do the frown between my browes. I'm so put off I never went for botox again. Oh and she wasn't cheap but I refused to pay her she didn't hassle me about it because she knew, the damage is done, it will cost me more to have it fixed now. We went to the same salon at one stage and she avoided me big time. I would have appreciat it if she just came and explain to me what went wrong and how to fix it.

Welcome to Florida, we have regular MD's doing lipo where you can get Botox, fillers etc. Beauty Spas. Beware!!!!!

Naturopath in my country Switzerland is more for those who can afford it haha because it is not included in your basic insurance plan. Therefore most naturopath always direct you towards Doctors and Psychologists (because people may seek them for depression instead of going to a psychologist) if it is outside there fields. It’s weird that naturopaths and chiropractors aren’t limited in there practices in the USA ..

As an OR nurse I am distracted by the disconnected suction on the anesthesia machine.

Lipo for 3k is normal in South Florida Beverly Hills is just overpriced. Come to ft Lauderdale (not Miami) do ur homework my doctor has been doing surgery for 45 years and Have an anesthesiologist right next to you the whole time until you wake up on this beautiful warm bed. Also implants of the Celine could be about 2800, silicone can reach up to 4800. And sometimes they have specials where if you get implants do you get one free area of Lipo. So definitely shop around and ask people about their experiences and I know there’s really good doctors out Beverly Hills but you’re going to get that Beverly Hills price tag. In South Florida and Miami are some of the hottest woman on earth and they are surgeons are down here for half the price.

and people think lipo suction is just like sticking a straw in and sucking the fat out like a smoothie but my late grand papa was a hair transplant surgeon and my mom used to help him seperate the follicles when one day a person using another room in his office came in and offered to show her how liposuction worked. so he brought her into the room and there was a woman completely naked and unconscious, uncovcered and he just started using his whole body to shove the metal tube in ripping the fat from the tissue, she said she actually felt sick watching not only how rough the procedure was but also the fact that even though this was over 30 years ago- there was no anesthetist and that this random woman had no idea that two absolute strangers were watching her without her knowledge...not sure how many laws that broke...

Scary. This is a just so wrong of the board to keep pushing it off. Like the lawyer said, many people are in danger of complications or death 😥

In Agha’s office in Newport Beach Cali, he lets others do surgery. He got a citation for it. Still does it. His assistants do lipo 😭 you think you are consenting to the board certified surgeon with experience and you then have a person you never did a consult with, sucking out your body and doing surgery on you. It’s NOT ok!!

I would never let just anyone perform liposuction on me even though my rear end looks like an alien has landed. I don't have $ to get anything done but, no pun intended, with the right surgeon it would make a great before and after shot. 🤣

I wouldn’t even get myself a pair of bedroom slippers through Groupon because chances are the quality will be dodgy! As for Groupon surgery….that’s just f###ing crazy! People who do this are lucky if they don’t end up RIP ⚰️ Do Groupon do funerals as well??!

I have heard many dentists doing cosmetic surgeries. That is horrifying.

The words *great deal* and *plastic surgery* should never be spoken or read in the same sentence. But so many people are seeking a quick fix! And a lot of times, quick fixes can lead to long-term pain and suffering. Just pay the many thousands of dollars it costs for a proper procedure to be done by a board certified plastic surgeon!! If you go cheap, it will cost you much more in the long run. It's that simple!! ✌🏾
