I have an appointment with a plastic surgeon in two weeks. I'm 65 and plan to have a facelift. I have learned a lot by watching some of your videos and I will watch more of them. My friends will have a shock when they find out, because I am the least vain person on earth. But I suddenly look much older, probably because of weight loss and sleeping problems. Thank you for all your explaining. It makes me a lot less nervous knowing what to expect.

I was 62-yrs old when I had a neck lift and a deep plane facelift and I threw in a lip lift at the last minute. Just for fun. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The only thing you will regret is that you had any regrets. Then a year later I had my upper and lower lids done surgically and had my neck lift revised. And I always disliked my profile - as we do - and had a rhinoplasty at the same time. It’s like getting a tattoo. You’re always thinking about what you will have done next!

Hi! I’m 69 yrs old & I’m 9 days out from a deep plane fL, neck lift, lip lift, brow lift and upper bleph revision. I had it done WITHOUT general anesthesia... just a few Valium’s, and numbing injections. I felt fine from day 1. After taking ES Tylenol for 1 day, I realized I didn’t need it and stopped! I am bruised under my eyes and on 1 side of my mouth... and my face/ ears are swollen, but other than that I feel great! I can see a much younger version of me in the mirror, with a really cute turned up upper lip! I’m super pleased! However, I went into the operation very healthy. I walk 20 mis a week, don’t smoke and don’t drink. My overall health has allowed me to heal well and the way he performed the surgery was so much safer without gen anesthesia poisons in my system! I am excited and feel blessed that I could have this done! I encourage anyone who can afford to do it... to take the leap! 🙋‍♀️🙏🏼😬

I still have numbness next to each ear and on my throat by the incision, but no pain. I found a scar gel with SPF which I use religiously every day and also wear a foundation with physical sunscreen in it SPF 50! I’m very cautious as I live in Fla. Also wearing a big hat everyday. I am so happy with the results so far. I’m Chronologically 69 but look like I’m in my 40’s! It was worth every cent. I can’t wait to put it all on video I a podcast in the coming weeks! Yeah well like half the photos or more showed patients who'd clearly had other work done... The women at 4:36 and 5:23 CLEARLY both had rhinoplasties, and the one at 4:36 seems to have also had something done to her lips. I feel like it's not a very honest way of showing before/after photos. He should be much clearer about saying EVERYTHING they've had done, not just showing it as if it's just a facelift. It makes it look like a facelift is going to also give you a better nose/lips etc.

Im 3.5 weeks recovery from deep plane, neck, upper & lower blephs. For anyone reading, please assume the worst in terms of recovery- you'll look very swollen for at least three weeks. Don't plan on getting straight back to work! And make sure you have help for the first week. I had pain for two weeks, while it could have been tolerable I also didn't want to suffer either. The aesthetic eye is what is necessary in cosmetic surgery, assuming the surgeon is also a skilled surgeon. There are a number of skilled surgeons, however that aesthetic eye is really critical to appear rested and not "pulled". Even if you just need stitches in an ER due to an accident, for example, make sure they call in a plastic surgeon to do those stitches and the scar will appear less noticeable.

Do not believe that a Deep Plane Facelift is "pretty painless." The pain after my DPFL was significant for the first 36 hours and I needed to use the prescribed oxycodone/acetaminophen tablets frequently during that period of time. I'm disappointed that the Plastic Surgeon did not offer to admit me over night to the hospital for pain control, even though I inquired about it at my pre-op appointment. As well, I have permanent numbness to the areas of my face innervated by the Greater Auricular Nerves. The aesthetic result is good, and I'm appreciative of that. Every person's facelift "journey" is different, but DPFL is NOT a benign procedure. Proceed with caution.

You really have to do your research. Check online for your state's medical board to see if they have had any negative actions against them. Where did they attend undergraduate and medical school? Check to see if lawsuits have been made against them. What hospitals did they do their internships at? Where do they have operating privileges? Are they the chair of the plastic surgery department or a professor at that hospital? What research and scholarly articles have they published? Look at their photos of their work on their websites. What do the online reviews state about the surgeon's work? Does the surgeon do any free surgeries on people in poor countries? For example, Dr. Sam Most of Stanford University's Medical School travels to a poor country each year for a few weeks to perform free surgeries on people. The free work in poor countries shows that the surgeon is compassionate. Hope this helps. Natalia Arizona

I've had the deep plane facelift. I didn't have any of the fat grafting. As such.the lower part of my face around my mouth and chin still looks lined cobbled and sunken. It is ageing and takes away from what is good about the work. I had a neck lift as well. It was revised twice which resulted in a hematoma each time. Hence it's still not right and frustrating. I am not faulting my Surgeon who has done his best. Enjoyed the video. Thank You!

Can you get fat grafting now? That procedure may get you the results you want. I wonder why that procedure wasn’t recommended for you in the initial consultation and done at the same time.

Great before and after pics - very impressive! Contemplating having a facelift, I'm from an ethnic background and I have medium tone tan skin. I'm aware that there are different suturing procedures implemented for darker skin due to possibility of keltoid scarring. Do you have advice regarding same, or a cosmetic surgeon you trust that you can refer for ethnic facelifts?

I found this to be a very thorough video which answered several of my questions concerning face lifts. I live in Houston and getting some blephorplasty in a few weeks. A face lift and scars are so scary to me but I know I will get a facelift eventually. After seeing this video with before and after pics he will be my surgeon and I will be one of those "out of town clients" :) Dr. Gary is handsome too in a younger Chris Isaak way... just saying!

What will be the ( duration( of a decent look) on a advance age ? There is a place in the facilities were the pacient could stay without going bankrupt ? Your replay will be really apreciated very much. Thank once again for such a informative video. Always A

I lost my beloved Dr. ( Scott Spear ), who passed away unexpectedly from a pulmonary embolism. I was scheduled to have two more procedures ( I live in D.C. ) and "interviewed" a few Dr.s here ( at a cost of $ 350.00 per consultation ).. I am dismayed. I feel you have such good energy and surgical technique, I guess I will need to travel to Beverly Hills… Help !!!

Dr. Motykie, I am a RN and have been searching out plastic surgeons. I was wondering if you have your patients go under general anesthesia or sedation while a deep plane procedure is done. Also, what does it cost to get a facelift when lifting the jowls, neck. Thank you. Your work looks really nice. You do a really good job explaining the technique.

Those facelifts you showed were very well done. They all looked younger and rejuvenated. Shrinking the nose really made a difference. I've been averse to plastic surgery but seeing these results have changed my mind. I still think it's scary and gross. I'm really curious about the deep plane procedure. Does the muscle get affected in any way? Also, the staples, I noticed a change in the image: staple line to dots. Does skin grow around them? What happens if someone gets hit in the face?
