@@anne_ann185 niaki, many of those who joined in this session like braggy, jimmy jam, john hendrix and joe spinner were from the campus radio era (1991-2003?). mole crossed from the late eighties to the early nineties kaya inabutan din nya. brother jun banaag (dr. love) was from the late 70s to early eighties. george boone from 1981-1985. bob novales (bug) from 1984-1988.

@@pammiesingkho1786 pammie. thanks for your concern but as you may have already noticed, this show is designed to jog memories of an older market kaya sa dwls, pre-barangay years lang to. those who come after will have their own memory vehicles and surely not here in Boomers' Banquet (notice the title of the show)🙂

It’s wild to watch this and recall the same stories I heard almost 20 years ago when I was part of the first batch of Campus Aircheck’s 2000’s revival.. an experience I’ll never forget, definitely some of the best times I’ve spent in my life 🙏🏼

DWLS-FM began it's operation on February 14, 1975 as World Love Songs 97.1, which served as the sister station of DZBB 580 (later DZBB 594 Radyo Bisig Bayan). The first formats of DWLS-FM as World Love Songs were Soft AC and Easy Listening, followed by Top 40 in 1981, later reformatted as Campus Radio 97.1 WLS FM on April 30, 1992 as a Top 40 Station, and October 1, 1995 as an Easy Listening station. DWLS-FM was the launching pad for the broadcasing careers of Ramon Tulfo, Tina Monzon-Palma, Jimmy Gil, Sharon Lacanilao, Marga Ortigas, Dada Lorenzana, Raffy Tulfo, Erwin Tulfo, Aljo Bendijo, and Tina Panganiban-Perez

Yap. Same callsign and frequency but not the same format through the years. There are various eras and we are happy to represent the first few here (from its beginnings in the 70s thru most of the "all-hit"/"best of the currents"/"the giant"days in the 80s to campus radio in the early to mid 90s.)

Competition, especially among tv networks was the last thing on our minds, kahit kaninong batch pa yan. Unang una, music radio kami and we just focused on our jobs. Mas marami nga kaming kasabay na mas malalakas na stations sa radio but we all just loved our audience. Thanks for your comment.

Master T passed away early this year. Fred James died around 8 years ago. We mentioned early on that this session was dedicated to them. Danny R and Triggerman were just unavailable.
