We had to shelve our weekly sessions because past the health lockdowns, everybody seems to be going out more often already. You can listen to us every third Monday of each month as George and I are regular co-hosts on Teddy's radio show "O.K.S.". 4 to 5pm on DWBL-AM 1242Khz.

Peter Musngi is the resident voice over announcer of ABS-CBN, Michael Knight is the resident voice over announcer of TV5, George Boone is the resident voice announcer of ABC 5 from 1991 to 1995 and the resident voice over announcer of GMA Network from 1980 to 1990, Al Torres is the resident voice over announcer of GMA Network and GMA News TV, and Terrence Khan is the resident voice over announcer of IBC. Bob Novales is the resident voice over announcer on ASAP Natin To on ABS-CBN, Tom Alvarez is the resident voice over announcer on Eat Bulaga! on GMA Network, Charlie Ysmael is the resident voice over announcer on SOP on GMA Network.

Hi there Michael. Thanks for the effort to log this down. However, you may want to tweak (edit) your list so you can spread the data correctly... Let's begin with Long Tall Howard, who was the station voice for kbs/rpn in the mid 70s. In the 80s, he did the intros and the prize gallery of eat bulaga. RPN's network voice in the mid 90s was Andy Santillan. Willy Inong was famous for Spin A Win, the primetime, later moved to sunday noontime gameshow. He also was station voice for CTV31 in the 90s. GMA had as network voice George Boone in the early 80s till 1985, alternating with Ms Joy Rallos. He was followed by Fred James, Germ Luis, Manny Casaclang then finally Al Torres with Shirley Escalante. George Boone was also network voice for ABC5 when it reopened in 1991. Replaced later by Arvi Villamarzo, then towards the late 90s by MK Borricano. Peter Musñgi was BBC2's voice from the early 80s until ABS-CBN's resurrection in 1986, where he still is. He was also v.o. for Family Kwarta o Kahon in rpn, following Vic Morales and succeeded by Benjie Castro. He was also the v.o. for The Sharon Cuneta Show. Ed Picson voiced The Big Big Show, an early evening daily variety show on BBC2 and later, Vilma on GMA and Tonight With Dick and Carmi on ABS-CBN. As for me, i was network voice for PTV4 in 1988, Loveliness on ABS-CBN, later on IBC Vilma in 92 to 94, and ABS-CBN's musical-variety shows SaLinggoNaPoSila, SangLinggoNaPoSila, ASAP, and Happy Yipee Yehey. The long time network voice for channel 13 was Ricky Dizon, well into the mid-1990s. Afterwards, the station hardly gained significance. Other names you threw in may ring a bell or two for other generations. Thanks again.

@@bugvids Okay so Long Tall Howard was the voice of Eat Bulaga from the 80s to the late 90s before Tom Alvarez of RX 93.1 took over his VO stint in Eat Bulaga since 1997 until now. And I truly believe Tom Alvarez' voice and timbre sounded like Joe Fowler because of that high vocal range when he speaks at the microphone. And what about Ed Picson? Well after he retired from being a VO artist, he began his career from being a play-by-play commentator for the PBA games in the 90s to the 2000s.

@@RamilEspina Ed's career stretches back longer than that, Ramil. He was v.o. for many shows in broadcast city (bbc2, rpn9, ibc13) thru most of the late 70s into the mid 80s. Then gma's Vilma and abscbn's tonight with dick & carmi. He joined the pba radio panel in 1988 then moved to tv in1990. Ed was also anchor for Jai Alai at thr height of its popularity in the early 80s. He is now secretary-general of ABAP, which has medal hopefuls in the current olympics.

@@bugvids As Wikipedia says, GMA formally changed its corporate name in 1996 to GMA Network Inc., with the acronym 'GMA' now standing for "Global Media Arts". We often say "Global Media Arts" rather than "GMA", because, in the United States, some Americans have thought that GMA often means "Good Morning America". That's why we should be [a bit] very careful with that. By the way, "Greater Manila Area" was formerly a meaning of GMA Network's acronym.

@@janesantos5071 For me, mas ramdam ko ung emosyon ng mga manonood pag si Ka Peter ung nagbi-VO sa bawat teaser. Si Al, ok rin naman siya; iba nga lang ung delivery. Pareho silang beterano, but for me, si Ka Peter ung pinakatinatandaan ng karamihan.

1:31:32 Even Peter Musngi from ABS-CBN did some voiceover at SMNI of PACQ shows, The Gospel of the Kingdom and Powerline although the Channel 43 frequency formerly by ABS-CBN in Manila has now given to SMNI.

howard did network voice overs in rpn and probably did some bits for bbc and ibc, all three stations being within broadcast city. towards the last few years of bbc, peter was the bbc-2 network voice already and that carried over to abs-cbn channel 2.

Found this KZread page through an old friend/mentor of mine who promoted an upcoming episode...and honestly, this episode was so hard to hit pause on, kasi nakakatuwa ‘yung mga anecdotes, the history, and all the jokes - para kaming “fly on the wall” during this little catch-up session among old friends and colleagues. Such a treat for me, and for so many people who grew up hearing and listening to those voices on both radio and TV! Kulang ang 2 1/2 hours, but I’m looking forward to a Part 2. Thanks so much, Sir George, Sir Bob, and Sir Teddy! Also watched the other “radio reunion” episodes (WKC, Magic, and DMZ)...but this episode with the voice-overs alone was enough to make me subscribe. Until the next!

Will save all my excitement for when I watch it later, but...that station will always be dear to me not only because it was a station I listened to growing up, but also because that was where I first honed my broadcasting chops as a student in the early 2000s. George Boone from 1991-94. Arvi Villamarzo from 1994-97. MK Borricano (michael knight) 1997-until naging tv5. Sa tv5 sabay sila nina Martin Andanar saka Gerry Magnaye (jeremiah junior). Ngayon i heard si Mitch Amurao (Supermitch) na.

​@@bugvids si mk, as of 2023, ay balik vo sa tv5 pero sa 92.3 radyo5 (radyo singko) na. i heard him sa radyo5 pag na-relaunch as "true fm" from "news fm", while si super mitch ay main vo ng tv5 ngayon...pero i don't know if mk would made another vo work for tv5 shows lalo na sa abs-cbn shows na ini-ere sa singko.

hi leslie. yun kasing panahon na may mga dj na sa dzmb, di pa gaanong katagal (late 90s na sila nagkaroon ng live dj's. before that, laging music all day and all night lang). sa mga mas pambata na programa siguro pasok yung reunion nila. kaya kami boomer's banquet diba. hehe. yun namang tunay na luma like dwiz (sunshine city), di pa namin mahagip sina bimbo valdez and louie dizon. sumakabulang buhay na rin si mac roller kaya malabo mag wiz radio reunion for now. tha ks for your interest. - bob

I recall sir Bob may sunday program ang DZMB 90.7 na may titled "Best by request" na may pinahuhulaan sila sa mga avid listener nila na "how many coins are there in the bottle" , of course with a clue . If your guess is right you'll recieve a gift from the or the station . It's in the early 80's sir Bob .

Hi Angelo. Sa ngayon may balita kami na si Mitch Amurao (supermitch ng Dwkc-guest namin nung sila ang topic) ang voice over ngayon. May stock audio pa rin ng mga nag voice na sa kanila tulad nina mike borricano (Michael Knight), martin andanar, and gerry magnaye (jeremiah junior). Kung sa dati pa, sina george boone at arvi villamarzo and mga naging voices ng abc5.

Al torres cant even pronounce the word "expressway" correctly. i remembered Bob Novales taught me the correct pronunciation of that back when i was still in abs haha. when it comes to voice over talents its just really Bob i admired. matalino.madami ka matututunan. sorry but i would not want to listen to public figures na wala ako matututunan .sorry po.
