Thank you so much for making this video! It's detail gave me the confidence to fix that on my own and saved me 385€ for a non painted spare handle. In my case 3/4 cables were broken. Thanks to your very well and detailed manual I was able to do the same (with standart tools) and guess what - it works again!!! Only negativ point: since I've dismounted, cleaned and oiled the one handle I fixed (driver side front) it feels so new and well that I want to maintaine others also ;)

Hi there. You should put a Dremel on your Birthday Present list - would make the grinding of the channel for the wires much easier. Will be attempting to fix the handle on my 760Li (again) soon and will definitely extend the wires. Thanks as ever for your videos.

@@ecologicaltime Well I removed my drivers door handle again (I now have to remove the door card and inner cover because I screwed through the locking slide to keep it in place as it loosened up after a few pulls meaning the handle fell out ...) and discover that when I reinstalled the handle after fixing it last time I had trapped the wires between the metal parts and they had quickly cut through and shorted to the metal on the handle. Fixed the wires again and reinstalled and secured again very carefully but my new problem is that the drivers door handle does not unlock or lock using Comfort Access and bizarrely you do not need to have the key with you at and the other three handles all unlock and open the car. The other three handles do not lock with CA either (with or without key). In short, anyone can open my car using all the doors except for the driver's door whether or not they have the key with them. Yikes - not a good idea, especially here in Ukraine. Do you have any ideas as to what might be wrong or how I could figure it out or do you think I should just try to get rid of CA through coding the various modules with NCS Expert? Perhaps there is some piece of code that is telling the car not to bother checking if key is present to unlock but I have no idea where that might be. Sorry to bother you but I cannot find anyone else having reported this problem through any of the forums. One good thing though is that although you can access the vehicle (through any door except driver's one) without a key you cannot start it without at least having the key present in your pocket or inserted into dash.

I had the same problem, yellow wire broken, sadly I cracked the casting getting the pins out . I made a bracket and tapped out the holes to repair , added some super glue and it's ok.

Great info and lots of detail Good Sir!! I have a 2013 bmw x5 35i i was wondering is these on my bmw is repairable?? If not where would you think i could purchase an "aftermarket" for my vehicle?? Ebay has lots of used ones with comfort access. I am not interested in bying a used one that possibly a waste of cash ty 100-100

@@ecologicaltime would be helpful to know what model this handle design is from. Also interested in the e90. Didn't see a torx screw on my handle. everything seems glued and only meant to be replaced. I may try to open it to see if I can save money. anyone interested reply me

Another meticulously detailed “how to” video. My e65 doesn’t even have this problem but I watched the video anyway. There’s always information that can be extrapolated and used elsewhere. Ps. 2 goes into 6 approximately 3-ish times 🇦🇺🦘
