Dealer wanted $1500, indy wanted $500. I bought one on ebay and watched this video. $50 for the handle and 10 minutes of my time. It's still working two years later.

Thanks for the video. To confirm, can I just replace the original handle case and replace with the OEM handle case, without dismantling the 2 sensors from the original handle?

I think you will need to dismantle the sensors to access the one screw below them, otherwise you won't be able to separate the handle from the exterior shell (case)

Helpful video, so I can buy any color handle and just replace cover with OEM one, if it fits as it should. You didn't dismantle the one of your car? I was little bit confused cause those colors didn't match.

Yes, you can replace the cover with the OEM one if you can't find your color. And yes, that's what I did. I already switched the parts on my car - that's why they don't match. Thanks for the feedback

Hi friend, sorry to hear about the inconvenience. Before you buy another bolt, if you remove the door card you should be able to retrieve the original bolt from inside.

Yes, the plugs are held in with a plastic weld. If you apply pressure and slide the plug outward, it will break the weld. You can then slide the plug out. I'll try to upload a new video shortly showing the whole process.

Do you have to code the new handles? Or is it plug and play? Thanks for the video by the way!

I got the same issue,driver side grab handle,UK,the only thing is i can’t find new right front driver side with the hole for the key,my question is if I buy for normal door without the key hole,I can put my cover because have the hole already?or wouldn’t work with the handle.thanks

Keyhole is in the interior mechanism, isn't impacted by replacing comfort access handle. You are good to go, just be sure to be replacement for driver door.

Hello, So I was doing a comfort access door handle replacement and I loosened up the torx screw that was holding up the handle, however when I was wiggling the handle out it knocked the screw out and fell into the door, fast forward I got the screw out and I asked my mechanic what would happen if the screw came completely off, he said that the door has to be taken apart because something plastic of sort was holding the screw in. My question that can I just simply put the torx screw back in? was my Mechanic bsing about something holding the torx. has anyone dropped this screw before?

I had the same thing happen on my F02. I replaced the door handle and was able to use the screw to hold it back in. I definitely did not have to take the whole door apart, although I did have to remove the door card and vapor barrier to get to fish the screw out

My handle door light dont work, can I only buy that and change ? Or I need to buy full handle door

@@SingleMaltMotors thanks. I just bought one too for my driver side door. I want to paint the inner to my cars color. But dont know if it will affect the touch "sensor" to open the door. I have mailed the seller and they didnt give me a good answer, only that i could try but. i assume it will be fine though.

Hello. Im having a problem with my comfort access. Basically my car has been having intermittent problems with the remote locking and unlocking. It seems to have a mind of its own! I can approach the car with my key in my hand and the car decides to unlock itself, even when not pressing the remote button or pulling the handle (comfort access). Sometimes I can approach the car, try to unlock it with the key fob, and it won't open. There's times when I lock the car with the fob, and immediately it unlocks itself. There's even times when the car wont unlock via the fob or through comfort. Would it be a door handle problem? Thanks in advance.

Hi friend - yes, that's exactly what I experienced prior to changing my comfort access handle. Replacing the handle will resolve that issue. Hope that helps.

How do you open up the rest of the handle?

I thought this video would help me because I was having a very similar problem. However, after ordering and replacing the drivers side door handle, I’m unfortunately still in the same situation; left without comfort access. The door handle replacement did nothing to help. Not sure why my comfort access is still not working even though it was when I first got the car.

Hi friend - the screw is self-contained, so you can't back it all the way out, and it won't fall into the door.

@@birkopfdodds8936 The smaller connector/plug is for the light. The wider plug is for the comfort access. FYI you can totally remove the light and re-use it if you swap out the comfort access handle

No, they are different. Driver's side front and rear are different, but passenger side front and rear are interchangeable.

Have you seen the part's price from the dealer? IMHO worth the minimal effort, and that's only if you want to keep the original door light.

The painted handle top cover does not pop off so easy as in your video. If doing like in your video, alk plastic clips got broken and fell on the floor 👎
