Do you get battery discharge attention message in your 5,6,7 series BMW? Probably your comfort access sensor in your door handle is on the end of it’s lifespan. Does your door open and close randomly without the need to press a button on your key fob to do so? Then you came to the best place for solution. I am going to show you how to fix it for free. Open the door where you noticed the issue. Remove the rubber cover if you have the 6 series, on 5 or 7 series you won’t have that rubber cover. Use a size 4 hex bit to undo the door lock bolt. Then use a long T15 Torx bit or screwdriver to undo the door handle bolt. You don’t have to remove the bolts, turn them only till you start to feel resistance, then stop. Now remove the door handle. You will see the 2 connectors, one is for the door handle light and the other is for the comfort access sensor. The bigger one is you are going after. Use a flathead screwdriver to disconnect the sensor. Now you can start to put everything back together. Firstly put the loose connector back to the hole then slide the door handle back as well. Tighten up the bolts, put back the rubber cover and test your door handle if it fitted back properly. You lost your comfort access, however you got rid of battery drain issue and the random door openings and closings. If you want you can replace your door handle to retain the comfort access function, you can use the same steps too.

Thank you! This fix solved this problem for my 2017 640d. A mechanic had tried and failed to fix it (changing a part that probably didn’t need to be changed) before I found your video. Got a new primed handle from BMW and had it painted and installed. Great result👏.
HI, This was a good video,, only comment is that you don't need to remove any bolt/screw other than the T15 screw until it stops,, the handle is then free to extract.. good luck and I wish you well for all future videos.. 😄

Hi, I had this issue with battery discharge and faulty comfort access on 2 doors on my 640 I watched you video and disconnected the comfort access on all 4 doors. That seemed to work for a while but now problem is back again, if I lock the car and have the key in my pocket and try open the doors they stay locked so I know the comfort access on the door is disabled but when i try the boot it opens. If I move the key away the boot won't open so I'm wondering is there another comfort access module in the boot lid that I could disconnect ? Thanks

Maybe in the boot as well, I know there is a fuse for it, just don't exactly know which one, but that fuse is also responsible for another things as far as I know.

So from long to short, all i need to do , just disconect comfort acces cable from handle and thats it?

If you don't mind losing the comfort access function then yes. If you want to keep you need to buy a new door handle around from £70 if I am correct.
WHY not replace the door handle??? if you are that short on money- don't buy a BMW, get a prius.. or yaris or something cheap to drive. dislike.

😂😂😂 so because BMW can't make a reliable comfort access door handle,every owner should change them every two years at around £80, right? 😂😂 I have seen this happening on nearly all of the bimmers with CA, even my X5 has the same issue and the door handle costs around £100 unpainted, unfitted. So mate, if you like wasting your money,feel free to go ahead 😉 Ps: also I highly doubt that anybody is using that feature or missing it if it goes bad.

@@MrNiceGuy94Wait 100 GBP is a great price!! Here in Canada new handle from dealer is 600$ CAD (351 GBP) And I must say nah, on a BMW I really want comfort access handles to work. I've bene chasing my issue to for the past 1-2 years. On my other E92 the handles worked perfectly. I'm starting to wonder if maybe a bad module might cause handle to die early.
