BLOOD, SWEAT & TEARS - Mounting PCM for LS SWAP - UTX

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Today at Ugly Truck, we're making ANOTHER STINKING BRACKET and installing the PCM in this 1986 Chevy C10 6.0 LS swap. We mount the computer on the driver side inner fender, as low as possible. Using the OEM mount and cover makes it easier, but it's a pretty intricate little bracket. We don't want the PCM bouncing around under the hood, so we make it extra strong, while still leaving room for the air intake tube above. Stay tuned for that video next!

    Thanks for the excellent videos. Just 2 comments 1. On relays, all my drawings show pin 85 as ground and 86 as 12v trigger. 2. working on aircraft the sealed butt connectors are called solder sleeves

    Hello Robert. Most everything that I work with the 86 will be the source to ground. I do see them with 85 being ground once in a while and it works the same either way. What gauge of wires will you use those connectors on for aircraft? Thanks. Jerry

    I worked on Military flight test aircraft on the data systems, 95% of our wires were 20 and 22 ga.

    I would have thought that they wouldn't let a wire be spiced on aircraft. Very interesting. I am a huge aircraft nerd on top of loving cars and trucks. Thanks Robert. Keep those planes in the air. It really freaks people out. Jerry

    😂 The only vehicle that's ever caught fire in our shop was a 79 F150, and it was because some ding-dong installed an electric fuel pump on a carbureted motor, and wired it hot with key on. We drove it in (first thing in the morning) and it backfired through the carb. Not a great way to start the day! Another great reason to have a fire extinguisher handy in the shop! Thanks for watching, Anthony!

    I'm going to need a small wire welder for my bodywork and brackets. I have a stick welder now. I was eyeballing the Hobart 140 handler and caught a glimpse of Jerry's in the background. Is his the 140 and does he like it? You 2 make great videos 😊

    Hey Bill! 👋 Yep, it's a Hobart 140. It's great for everything we do in the shop...brackets, exhaust, etc. He's actually using it right now, making more AC brackets! I'm behind on my other messages, but we're loving your project updates!! Hope you and Hunter are enjoying it too! --Emily

    I’m doing an LS swap 1985 C10 and I’m almost done and realized I can’t find the plug for the MAF sensor. What harness is it part of?

  • @UglyTruckExperience

    @UglyTruckExperience

    11 ай бұрын

    The MAF plug is at the end of the wiring harness that comes out of the right rear on the engine harness that leads over to the AC dryer low pressure switch and then to the low coolant level switch and from there it goes to the MAF. Hope this helps. Jerry and Emily
