Honestly it was an honour! You guys blew my mind. Compositionally brilliant and flawless execution. But more than anything the vibe is chilling. So good. Any time you guys are feeling chatty I’d love to interview you over Skype or something. Let me know and I’ll arrange it. As the focus of my channel is reactions, and I am a new fan, I would love to centre the chat around some history of the band, and perhaps what a new listener might expect to find. Or even a good place to start listening. Thanks again for a stunning performance.

I really love when people react to blackbriar, because they really nail the horror concepts, this is a confession of someone who is forced to confess, in other song of them, their lyrics are about some people who tortured her to get a confession and in other song she really curse them.

Oh yeah, man, I love Blackbriar. I think the Kate Bush comparison is a fair one. Zora is definitely doing her own thing, but if you're trying to sell someone on Blackbriar the comparison is good way to give them a hint of what they're getting into. They really nail that creeping evil of classic fairy tales and ghost stories, and I love that. ps, to anyone interested, Denise Hofs has some fan-cam live performance clips of Blackbriar up on her channel. Pretty cool for those of us who live far from The Netherlands. pps, congrats on the 10k subs!

Oh thanks mate! I can’t believe how quickly the channel has grown. I appreciate you watching. This video seems to have been a little ignored by much of my community. I think I’m gonna have to try to figure out how to direct people to it. These guys deserve more eyes on them.

I especially like the moment Zora started singing, and Prymal's "facial reaction" to that :D And what about the production? This video is a masterpiece *_* Thank you for the reaction! Especially for recognizing the kind of "primeval horror aesthetics" characterizing the song, and the authenticity of the band itself. Hope you'll like some more from Blackbriar... like Fairy of the Bog, for instance!

Hey dude, thanks for getting to it! This is my favorite song by my favorite band yet, my overall favorite song is Lorna Shore's "To the Hellfire" 🤣. This is definitely my favorite reaction to them so far, i love that by you only listening to one song with little background info, you completely "got it". Your descriptions and references were on point. Zora has a number of influences including Kate Bush however she is consistently experimenting with her voice. Ill drop a few by them if you want to check out more, again thanks for the reaction. - "Deadly Diminuendo" this is her best vocal performance imo but no video. - "The Seance" some ghost vibes. - "I'd Rather Burn" this is on a previous ep from "Weakness and Lust" but its the sequel to it, with "Confess" being the first song in the trilogy. Also any of Zora's acoustic videos are an absolute must watch.

This song is an answer to the previous in the same album, called "Confess" (don't think there's a video but I think musically is the best), in which some kind of tribunal is threatening her to obtain her confession. Here she is just posing as a witch, mocking them, somehow reassuring them they can blame her for everything the can possibly think (hate, infertility, the shipwreck which gives the title to the album, and generally speaking all the sins they could have commited but were of course instigated by her). It's a recurring theme in Blackbriar poetics. Check out also live versions if you please, Zora (the singer) has made some really interesting live streaming during the covid lockdown.

I love the reaction, very authentic and honest. Not to mention the fact to you seem to know a thing or two about music yourself. Keep up your quality content and congratulations on your well deserved 10k Subscribers. As I see that someone else already mentioned some different songs from Blackbriar I will add a little to that: They have a bit of a variety in their songs within their general concept of what they are as a sound (you explained that way better then how I am doing that currently). Songs with a less powerful chorus ("weakness and luss", "the Seance"), very powerful chorus ("Lillith be gone", "Walking over my grave") and songs with a higher beat ("Fairy of the bog") and I would add at last very touching songs ("My down to earth lover", "Through the crevice"). Ofcourse these categories are still opinions but I hope this might give a bit of insight in what you could expect :D

Her voice is more like a Kate Bush, the music is een sort horror progressive metal...in a very positive way. Normally you see big guys growling with very very loud hard songs, but this is more dark, but also light the same time.

Blackbriar are my favourite band, but there's a very crowded second step on that podium. To me, though not by album or release order, Weakness and Lust is the 3rd of a 4 song tale of mistreated women. In Lilith Begone a woman is demonised for seeking equality. In Confess she is dragged to a show trial she can't win. In Weakness and Lust she mockingly confesses to any and all potential accusations. In I'd Rather Burn she curses her guards dragging her to the stake with a threat of haunting. For a different tone, try Witching Hour and check Zora rocking out
