I was once told laughter is the best medicine, I was 55 got cancer, as soon I learnt to walk n talk again and I'm still learning, watching Billy Connolly, I laugh and laugh, now the cancer hasn't returned yet, I'm now 57, can't talk properly, but my walking is improving, Love Billy Connolly.

A good comedian would stop before the second punchline, and be happy with the joke. Brilliant Sir Billy Connolly takes it to another level because only he knows how to do that. Awesome.

my dad introduced me to Billy. On my sixteen birthday. Great to my Grandmothers unpleasure and misery. Billy was what made my father and I bond. In 2016 my father passed away. 2017; Billy announced his Australian tour and I damn well went with my wheelies on. I knew my dad was there too

I am not sure what I find more amusing Billy's excellent comedy or people declaring that you couldn't say anything offensive like that today. There are so many comedians following on from Billy, many cite him as an inspiration. They aren't him and use their own material but he was the pioneer who started a trend, not the last of a breed. Russell Howard tackles the PC from a different angle, pointing out how stupid those trying to be ignorant are. Openly claims Billy as one of his key inspirations. Kevin Bridges is another man from one of the less affluent areas of Scotland who laughs at all sides, his own and those feeling far above it. I like all of them. I am glad they aren't all carbon copies, that would be boring like the mother in law jokes Billy saved us from. With his advancing years and declining health we all have to accept the future will see us losing Billy and I will be very sad about this. But I am sure he will be as glad as i am that his influence on comedy will live on for many generations to come. I feel I should finishe with some sort of joke. I know Billy was rarely into poitical jokes, maybe like me seen to many of them getting elected. Maybe a mutually prejudiced joke to add to this, like how the only secret a woman can keep is that they have farted and how men could hold it but don't want to. Or perhaps I will stick to my day job acknowledging I have nowhere near his talent for comedy and never will.

I'd like to say that Billy has given me more laughs than anyone, but then I remember Basil Fawlty. What sort of life have we left our grandkids when this kind of humour is now verboten, courtesy of all the Karens in this world? Show this stuff to your kids FFS.

this sort of humor isnt "verboten". You can still makes jokes like this, but most comedians havent got the skill or humor to pull this off. And too many just scream their punchline or rush through the set up and it falls flat
