    He emulates what he says about comedy. If it isn't something that you can say in front of any audience then don't say it. And if you do say it, take responsibility for it. Don't wuss out and apologize for it. But make it funny. That is the point. We can find humor in anything.

  • @OneThousandHomoDJs

    @OneThousandHomoDJs

    yeah, Bill has gone out of his way to establish himself as a gutsy comic who can do "racial" material for black audiences. This was very much on purpose, the way he tells it. His fellow comics who were black would gripe about how much tougher black audiences are (this is true, it seems), and he took that up as a challenge. To be able to do material that almost no white comic would do, regardless of the audience. he's one of the most consistently funny guys out there. And when he does touch on race, it's always hilarious and true and never done for shock value. That's a VERY tough line to walk.....much respect for Bill.

    Absolutely love the fact that Bill's approach to racial comedy bits are more intelligent than having to mention he's married to a black woman every 2 seconds like Gary Owens does. It's sophomoric and hyperbolic, by announcing it - it just makes it way too easy, and in a sense pandering to a crowd instead of legitimately winning them over with thoughtful and situational comedy.

    I've watched this clip dozens of times and still laugh. The thing with Bill Burr is that his brain is on a different level. Like watching his quick replies to unrehearsed talk show hosts or in interviews. Even his weekly podcasts are so random and goes off on the craziest tangents but you find yourself saying "You know, he's actually right." Such insane talent.

    Why do people rank comedians and then get butthurt over others disagreeing? Comedy is subjective, humor is subjective, it's all subjective, the topic. You can discuss things like timing or how they deal with hecklers or how polished their act is, of course. But at the technically professional level, ranking comedians is stupid.

    Bill Burr has to be number one. Maybe Louis Ck or Kevin Hart next depending the type of comedy you like.

    I would listen to a whole hour-long special of Burr talking SOLELY about the Pistons/Pacers brawl, and it would be one of my favorite specials of all time.
