@@leonardolopes5831 I don't think it's the power. It's the lack of skill due to the fact that they only had 6 weeks to train. Her punches were powerful enough to rock Dina and to get her to run. She just didn't know how to cut off the ring, and I guess accuracy is another thing to improve on

@@jx14aby She actually was. The official did his third standing count of the round, and fourth standing count of the match. That's a TKO. He made a mistake. 3 knockdowns in 1 round is a TKO, and on top of that, 4 knockdowns in a match is also a TKO. I guess he lost count or something.

Ref here - I really f'd up and am glad that all involved handled my mistake like champs. I've been robbed twice and it stops you from enjoying your own performance afterwards as a fighter. After reviewing footage I coddled the fight too much. I could've called it before the end of the round. It was hard to call as Dina was still there but in hindsight should've timed out & told her clearly to fight back more or be TKO'd. I did go talk to her coach in between the boxing rounds but I should've done it in the ring with Dina. The count was inexcusable. It started as a break but her hanging on the rope was the reason to start counting. I heard the bell, and took it as an out, because I didn't want to decide the fight over her hanging on the ropes. That was a mistake. I hope you and Dina can still be super proud of the heart & skill shown, you had everybody on the edge of their seats! You all wrote history on this one. Andrea handled the aftermath with me with dignity and I am super impressed with the event & how Ludwig & team handled this. Happy how you and Dina came together. Good luck in your next fights! Statements are my own - nobody asked me to write this.

Just to be clear (although you obviously already know this and are just trying to save face..), we’re not mad you “coddled” the fight… I mean they’re freaking chess players, of course you have to coddle it. The issue is how disgustingly one-sided your “coddling” was. I mean watch it back again for the millionth time, you are literally doing **everything physically possible** to prevent a TKO by Andrea at all costs. As if there’s real money on the line or some shit lol. Seriously, not even an actual boxer could’ve landed a TKO there because YOU kept interrupting them and preventing any and all chances of it happening. Even Messi can’t do jackshit if you place an elephant in front of the goalpost. Guess that means Messi loses to the elephant, yea? That’s not coddling… that’s robbery. Huge difference.

@@mathewpankratz5767 Yeah I tend to agree, though I think in a longer match clearly Andrea would have won. Here is what I wrote on another post. First off, Dina was in a different weight category and had to come up to Andrea's, meaning she probably put on more fat than muscle. You can just eyeball the girls and see Andrea is in better shape. In boxing even a 5 pounds/ 2.3 kg weight difference is significant. Second, I guess none of you "boxing fans" ever heard the phrase "saved by the bell"? Below is a copypaste from Quora. I do agree the ref was 'overprotective' however, but that doesn't change the rules or the outcome. You can have refs that also give a quick standing eight count or a slow one, and judges that award too many points to a losing boxer, and so on. Happens a lot and changes nothing. (internet, Quora, on the phrase 'saved by the bell'): "The phrase originated in the sport of boxing. If a boxer is knocked down during a fight, the referee starts counting to ten. The boxer presumably tries to stand up again. If he has not risen to his feet by the time the referee reaches ten, he loses the match, and his opponent is declared the winner by a knockout. But if the bell announcing the end of the round sounds before the referee gets to ten, he stops counting. The round is over, but the match isn’t. The boxer has a moment to go back to his corner and recover before rejoining the fight for the next round. He was saved from losing by the ringing of the bell."

I disagree, he had to separate clinches which he did, but at no point was Dina rocked where her legs were wobbly or she appeared unable to continue, there just wasn’t any reason for him to stop it or give another standing 8 count, even the previous ones were pretty generous to Botez. No one experienced in boxing would seriously suggest Botez deserved a TKO there

If the boxer isn’t fighting back, what’s the point of it continuing. The ref usually stops it if the boxer isn’t fighting back. She was getting outboxed, and no point of it going any further if she is getting completely dominated. That’s my take on it.

A big part of the issue was also on the bell operator. You are never supposed to ring the bell as a count is happening. If the bell wasn't rung, then the outcome would have been clear.
